In the telemovie, Gary Morris is credited as the person who created the name "INXS", but, it was actually suggested by a member of Midnight Oil, (another band that he managed)
Paula Yates put an ounce of heroin in Michael's jacket which he was to be cremated in 1997 at his funeral only to succumb to a heroin overdose in 2000.
Luke Arnold who plays the late Michael Hutchence in this docudrama actually bears a striking real-life resemblance.
Kirk Pengilly has one daughter, with his ex-girlfriend Karen Hutchinson, named April-Rose Pengilly, who is now an actor / model. Hutchinson and Pengilly were together for ten years, in which time she toured with the band. Pengilly later married Rockmelon's guest vocalist Deni Hines, who is the daughter of African American, ex-pat singer, and Reality TV judge, Marcia Hines, but, the marriage only lasted ten months, and the two parted ways in early 1995. Deni Hines also sang backing vocals on INXS' single, "Not Enough Time". Pengilly was once engaged to freelance DJ Louise Hegarty, and, the relationship lasted for seven years. Pengilly eventually married former world women's champion pro-surfer, Layne Beachley, and, they renewed their wedding vows in 2014, after Beachley lost her wedding ring, whilst surfing
