It's later 90's. Joanne Roberts (Bethenny Frankel) has her daughter Kathleen (Clara Alexandrova) starting college. She is pursued by student Wader. Her roommate Becky Swafford is her lifelong best friend who decides to take every class with her. She has a fight with Becky over her clinginess and they split up. Becky dies mysteriously. Despite police reassurances, Joanne is certain of a continuing danger.
I didn't know that Bethenny Frankel does acting. She's not the worst thing in the world. She does fine for a TV movie. This is Lifetime doing college girls in danger. I like the mystery with its obvious red herring, obvious fallback, and the obvious obvious. This is not going to be on anybody's best list, but it is a fully functional TV movie. On a side note, the movie should be clearer on the year. I only got the time period by pausing on the stacks of IDs.
