"Tainted Dreams" creator, Sonia Blangiardo, directed the long-running Off-Broadway plays "My Big Gay Italian Wedding" and "My Big Gay Italian Funeral" written by "Tainted Dreams" star, Anthony Wilkinson. She tapped the cast of the plays for many of the supporting roles in the series. Brett Douglas, Chad Kessler, Debra Toscano, Brian Patrick Murphy, Brandon Goins, Paul Moon, Erik Ransom, Marissa Perry, Liz Gerecitano, Kim Sozzi and Meagan Robar have all appeared in one or both of the "Big Gay Italian..." plays.
