Although this film and The Waiting Game (2014) were inspired by the Dogme 95 conventions, this is the only film out of the two that qualifies as a legitimate Dogme film.
Timothy David Mitchell's decision to make the film under the Dogme 95 manifesto was not popular amongst Mitchell's fellow university peers, including some crew members and lecturer Salik Silverstein. After the film was completed, the film received continual praise from Mitchell's peers.
