Theater producer Isa Stenberg and playwright Lars Norén get the opportunity to develop a play with three inmates at a high-security institution. Isa and Lars know that the prisoners are prone to escape and are at risk of relapsing into crime. What they don't know is that two of them are also outspoken National Socialists.

Isa and the correctional service are impressed by how Lars manages to get the prisoners to open up and talk about the most painful things in their lives. With the positive development also comes furloughs and reduced safety regulations. At the same time, Tony and Ola's Nazi views take up more and more space in the rehearsal hall, and their plans to strengthen their neo-Nazi group with armed robberies become increasingly concrete.

The premiere in Umeå gets a standing ovation, but the next day the atmosphere is different. The question of how to put two National Socialists on stage echoes in the media. The prisoners retreat and what just felt positive has suddenly turned into its opposite. Isa wants to end the tour, but neither Lars nor the correctional service want to stop the performances. Isa is left alone with a frustrated theater group and an increasingly untenable situation.
