Its a great blend of the original format of the show whilst keeping it relevant to current times with enough change to jeep it fresh and interesring.
I had reservations about it before it was released but im pleased to say that its just as fun as the original series with Billie being amazingly similar to alex with the boys being perfectly written as Justin's and Max's characters.
Absolutely love the twists with Billie learning to control her magic as well as the brilliant stories and funny moments.
The familiarity and use of original sets and subtle character mentions make this a must watch for anyone who was a fan of the original series.

Gave the first episode a watch, but it was pretty average. It is a fun kids show, but I'm not a kid any more I guess. I'm sure that for new watchers who never saw the original, they would probably enjoy this show.
The only reason I rate a 5 is because of nostalgia factor.
I can't stand the Billie character. I don't know why, but they just seem really annoying and unlikeable. The show gives no reason for us to want to like them or see them succeed.
Why would we want to watch more except for nostalgia reasons, but I don't think there will be much of that. So again, this show will be fine for new kids to get into, but for older viewers, probably not.

My kids watched this growing up and were obcessed and now my grandkids are loving it. My adult kids were always hoping that the show would come back and it did.
David and Selena still got it. The new cast fit right in and we love the transition to the story. And wait to see more of the series. We are looking forward to seeing more of the past characters blend in from time to time. David Henrie is hysterical And the kids that were chosen for him were cast perfectly. We don't want to compare it to the first show because it's not this is a continuation and people need to realize that. Just like in real life things change.

I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would.
David Henrie is brilliant in this, I love his performance. The kids do a great job.
The show does have a few cheesy lines but looking back the original show did too.
I actually laughed out loud.
Only two episodes so far. I believe it was a good introduction to Billie, they were cast perfectly. I wish we'd have a more teenager cast like the old show. Why is it most Disney shows nowadays are very young kids? Did it use to be like this in the golden Disney days or I'm just getting old?
Anyway, I still think they did the right thing with the casting, the show is good so far and I hope they don't cancel this.
Can't wait to see what comes next.

I cried at the end of the first episode...this show is so special to me and for so many people who grew up watching this, and I rewatched it 2x and it is still funny and has a place in my heart like no other show from that era. They did it great back then and I believe it still going to be amazing now. I was so worried that it would be like Raven's Home (that sadly was kinda of boring just focusing on kids and barely Raven's problems) but here the magic and wizard world is still the main focus and that is amazing! No other show by Disney channel had so much importance than Wizards Of Waverly Place, 4 seasons, 1 movie, 1 special after the show ended and now a reboot!
Give it a try you won't regret, your inner child will be proud of you.

- TriviaMost of the furniture in The Lair is the original furniture from the original series.
- GoofsA major theme of the original Wizards of Waverly Place series was that Wizards cannot marry Non-Wizards. This rule was what lead Jerry Russo to surrender his powers, giving him the ability to marry Theresa. Since Justin still maintains his magic and Wizard status, he should not have been able to marry Giada, a Non-Wizard.
