Very good so far
I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would.
David Henrie is brilliant in this, I love his performance. The kids do a great job.
The show does have a few cheesy lines but looking back the original show did too.
I actually laughed out loud.
Only two episodes so far. I believe it was a good introduction to Billie, they were cast perfectly. I wish we'd have a more teenager cast like the old show. Why is it most Disney shows nowadays are very young kids? Did it use to be like this in the golden Disney days or I'm just getting old?
Anyway, I still think they did the right thing with the casting, the show is good so far and I hope they don't cancel this.
Can't wait to see what comes next.

An enjoyable watch-Disney finally got it right this time
I understand the critiques, but people need to keep in mind that this is a Disney Channel show-so naturally, there's going to be some corny jokes and family-friendly humor. That said, Selena Gomez and David Henrie really delivered, bringing back the charm and familiar elements fans loved from the original series. While it doesn't quite reach the magic of the original, it's still an enjoyable and nostalgic experience. I can easily see it running for at least three seasons, like many other Disney Channel hits. Also, Selena's performance here was much stronger than in Emilia Perez.
Janice LeAnn Brown is definitely on track to become the next big Disney star, following in the footsteps of Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Olivia Rodrigo, Jenna Ortega, and Sabrina Carpenter. David Henrie did a great job bringing back the essence of his character, Justin, while adding a more mature touch. While the show had a few moments that felt a bit too similar to the original, it still managed to be a fun and enjoyable experience overall.

Nostalgic yet disappointing
I love that it's a reboot of a show we all loved, and although it's for kid's, many people watching are adults that are lovers of the original. That being said, besides Justin and Alex, the characters & script are badly written. The entire premise feels lazy. There is no natural progression of the story and it all feels forced. Everyone knows wizards exist and the magic doesn't feel special anymore. The children are written without their own specific personalities and are just far too precocious. None of the lines are funny and the audience struggles to connect with any of the new characters. The original was more mature and well written. Overall just disappointed.
As a Wizards of waverly place fan.. I am really disappointed.
Besides Selena Gomez every other character is really awkward. The kid's and David Henrie's acting is a bit melodramatic and overly exaggerated. Selena's acting is very balanced and interesting as always. If it wasn't for her.. it would've sucked hard.
The new girl.. Janice is also good. Her acting is not over the top or melodramatic.
The story line is predicable and I hate to compare this with the original Wizards of waverly place.. but.. I wish that this show is a bit unpredictable like that one. The humor is not even in par with Wizards of waverly place... The humor is a bit cringe and overly childish.

The best show on Disney Channel is back!
I cried at the end of the first episode...this show is so special to me and for so many people who grew up watching this, and I rewatched it 2x and it is still funny and has a place in my heart like no other show from that era. They did it great back then and I believe it still going to be amazing now. I was so worried that it would be like Raven's Home (that sadly was kinda of boring just focusing on kids and barely Raven's problems) but here the magic and wizard world is still the main focus and that is amazing! No other show by Disney channel had so much importance than Wizards Of Waverly Place, 4 seasons, 1 movie, 1 special after the show ended and now a reboot!
Give it a try you won't regret, your inner child will be proud of you.

- TriviaMost of the furniture in The Lair is the original furniture from the original series.
- GoofsA major theme of the original Wizards of Waverly Place series was that Wizards cannot marry Non-Wizards. This rule was what lead Jerry Russo to surrender his powers, giving him the ability to marry Theresa. Since Justin still maintains his magic and Wizard status, he should not have been able to marry Giada, a Non-Wizard.
