An Archdemon's Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride

Honestly, I didn't have high expectations for this anime. I hadn't seen anyone talking about it, and from the cover, I got the feeling it was going to be a typical flat anime where a horny guy sexualizes an elf and that's it. But I found a beautiful story about love and bonds, where you form a family with people you don't share blood with.

The male protagonist is funny; his thoughts and expressions are quite different, and I found that endearing. He's one of those lone wolf types, but he has a lot of love to give.

As a negative, I wish she had taken more action throughout the series and hadn't been so kind and submissive in moments where she could have defended others.

I was very surprised by this anime; I didn't expect it, and I highly recommend it!

Not really a romance series fan but this series has more than just romance to keep it both interesting and entertaining. The magic casting looks good. The characters are well rounded and work together nicely

The character development for Zagan is also interesting to watch as he goes from a walled off lonely individual with trust issues to a well liked well meaning individual that people can lean on. His relationship with his elf companion growth is also intersting to watch as neither one of them share much about themselves with each other but then build a closeness over time that has them completely trust one another

Is it the best anime ever? No, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good one. Even though Zagan is a master sorcerer with a serious tone he can definitely be at times a little quirky and funny. I have enjoyed this show enough that I do hope it continues. If your a fan of spellcasting battles, mythical creatures and character development then I would recommend this.

Zagen has a reputation for being an evil sorcerer. One day he spends a fortune to buy an elf slave named Nephelia. It is assumed, not least by her, that his plans for her are nefarious... This couldn't be more wrong. He fell in love with her at first sight but is too shy to tell her how he feels. This leads to comedy, romance as well as some action as he must battle various foes.

I thought this was a fun series; a good blend of action and humour. Zagen and 'Nephy' are fun protagonists and sometime antagonist Barbatos provides plenty of laughs... usually as the butt of the joke. The animation is good, as are the character designs. Overall I'd say this is worth watching if you enjoy supernatural comedy/romance and a bit of action.
