Here are Muslims

The show is tecnically well done, there is an interesting subject, a troubled love story. I think many people like the main carachter. It has a good success right now. It maybe would deserved 10 stars, I have voted 8 stars because it is to watch one time due to plots.

About the plots: we all know that Italy is full of foreigners/former foreigners/sons of foreigners now. TV clearly wanted to put this on the screen. The plots are all nearly about foreigners or so, the most about Muslims. I understand they want put on screen something similar to the true life, but I think it is too much. The show is lacking of identification with characters: I really don't know how much foreigners or so in Italy can identificate in this characters, and I'm almost sure Italians can't identificate with no one. I think if there wouldn't be Edoardo Leo performs main carachter nobody will watched it.

Entertaining

Very entertaining. A nice way to spend a relaxing evening. It's quite lighthearted despit touching on very deep social issues.

Well constructed despite not all characters having the same depth. I particularly enjoyed that it's set in Milan.

The male protagonists are more enjoyable and credible than the female lead, nevertheless it remains entertaining and enjoyable.

Hope a new series will follow.

Too many times after a good start the following series are not at the same level, let hope they continue and will not disappoint.

Asking viewer for too long a review it's discouraging and will probably not do it again in the future.

An underwhelming attempt at a detective drama

Il clandestino, created by Ugo Ripamonti and Renato Sannio, is a TV series that struggles to balance humor and drama, ultimately failing to deliver a compelling or cohesive narrative. Set in Milan, the story follows Luca Travaglia (Edoardo Leo), a former police officer grieving the loss of his wife, as he teams up with Palitha, an eccentric Sinhalese character, to run an unconventional detective agency. While the premise holds potential, the execution leaves much to be desired.

Edoardo Leo brings sincerity to his role, portraying a man haunted by tragedy with moments of quiet intensity. However, his performance is often overshadowed by the exaggerated antics of Palitha, whose over-the-top characterization feels more caricature than compelling. The lack of chemistry between the leads further weakens the series, making their partnership feel forced rather than dynamic.

The show's attempt to blend comedy with the darker themes of grief and redemption falls flat, with neither element fully developed. The comedic moments often feel out of place, disrupting the emotional tone, while the dramatic arcs lack depth and originality. Supporting characters, including Lavinia Longhi and Mattia Mele, are underwritten, failing to leave a lasting impression.

Visually, Il clandestino offers little innovation, with uninspired cinematography that does little to capture the vibrancy of Milan. The episodic structure feels formulaic, and the plot twists are predictable, offering no real surprises or engagement.

Il clandestino aims to be a quirky, heartfelt detective story but ends up being a shallow and forgettable experience. Its potential is buried under inconsistent tone, weak characterization, and lackluster storytelling.

Rating: 4/10 - A disappointing blend of missed opportunities and unbalanced storytelling.
