The storyline is gripping and keeps you engaged until the end, even though there aren't many twists and turns. The visual effects (VFX) are also not very realistic.
The most ANNOYING aspect of the show was the main teenage character, Jay. His performance was unconvincing and came across as overly dramatic. Rumi, the female lead, didn't do any better in her role.
I must mention another Prime show called Khuaff, which features an excellent storyline, compelling acting, unexpected twists, and a genuinely creepy atmosphere.

Andhera feels less like an original series and more like a reheated copy of Stranger Things. From the dark parallel world to the group of kids stumbling into mysteries, everything comes across as a parody rather than a fresh idea.
While the show tries to capture the eerie vibe of supernatural suspense, it struggles with originality and depth. The characters feel underdeveloped, and many plot points mirror what fans have already seen in Netflix's hit series. Instead of paying homage, it often ends up looking like a repoff that doesn't bring much new to the table.
If you're curious and don't mind watching a desi-flavored spoof of Stranger Things, you might find some entertainment here. But if you're looking for an engaging and unique thriller, Andhera might leave you disappointed.

I guess writer started with stranger things and then he thout ohh.. wait most of them knew the story let's add something to give it an Indian touch... miserably failed...
Guess I would suggest please do not waste ur time.
Jay saves this situation but Omar do have that Andhera in it.. just mere stranger things..I would prefer to see stranger atleast it had some logic behind to link the things .. I don't know what write wants to convey.. does he want to convey message of depression. Or paranormal things or.

Andhera is an exquisitely crafted sci-fi horror series that transcends its genre trappings with intelligent writing and a deft balance of suspense, spectacle, and soul. The show weaves a captivating blend of fantasy and horror, all underpinned by a profound social message that lingers long after the credits roll. Philosophical undertones are interlaced seamlessly into the narrative, prompting reflection while never slowing the momentum.
The plot is a rollercoaster of tension and intrigue, while a few twists are gratifyingly foreshadowed, several arrive with spine-tingling unpredictability. Performances across the board are stellar, but Surveen Chawla delivers a magnetic portrayal that anchors the emotional core of the series. The visual effects are commendable, with CGI that enhances rather than distracts, and the jump scares are well-timed, eliciting genuine jolts instead of cheap tricks.
I pressed play intending to sample the first episode, only to find myself eight episodes deep, watching dawn break outside my window. "Andhera" is not just binge-worthy, it's binge-compelling. A rare piece of genre television that engages both the mind and the senses.

Andhera is a mood-rich, visually arresting supernatural thriller that starts strong with psychological complexity and an evocative setting. Its performances-especially by Priya Bapat and Prajakta Koli-anchor the show even as some threads become scattered. Pranay Pachauri, though playing a quieter role, contributes a moody resonance that's essential to the story's eerie pull.
It would have been far more compelling and apt if the series had revolved around a four-dimensional central theme, using the same subplots, visual effects, and settings:
1. Andhera - the darkness of depression, born from the hidden guilt within a person.
2. How it slowly grips and engulfs an individual.
3. How a few unscrupulous people exploit this vulnerability.
4. And finally, the only way out - to confront it with the inner light that can dispel even the darkest shadows of the past.
If you appreciate slow-burn horror with a touch of noir and are patient with pacing and narrative detours, Andhera is worth immersing yourself in. Just temper expectations for neat resolutions-and enjoy the ambiance.
