Bad Thoughts

If you've ever watched Tom's comedy or listen to him on a podcast, you'll know he harbors some dark thoughts.

And each one of these short stories, is a look inside his demented mind. As Bill Burr once said of Tom "the serial killer tone and complete lack of emotion, if his thoughts were a movie definitely NC17"

This series is more like R-rated, but this is exactly what I would have expected from Tom but wasn't sure even Netflix would OK with it.

You'll either love it or hate it, but what it will do for sure is make you question the choices you've made in your life that got you here. They could be bad they could be good, it all depends on how sick your sense of humor is.

Comedy sketches with a brutal dark and twisted edge that at first seems to throw you off kilter (even idioms are not safe in this series), where you are not sure what the hell you are watching. Then bang! You find yourself in the gutter, staring up to the absurdity as the senses adapt to the crudeness factor, and laughter surrounds your madness. Yes, it is that kind of brutal show, where nothing is sacred, and everything is in firing range. These are jokes, but the visual kind that work a treat and will challenge your perspective on comedians and the bad thoughts that go through their minds. Not for the easily offended, but a bonus for Tom Segura fans...

If you can get past the extreme vulgarity, you will encounter some laugh out loud moments. This show is definitely is not for everyone. If you have sensitive sensibilities, please do not attempt to watch. There is a ton of sexual content, and what some would consider inappropriate content. Everything and everyone is made fun of in these episodes, children, women, old people, disabled people minorities, you name it. This show is not for children or minors. It's not even for some adults. For me, it was a good distraction from what I normally watch, but I doubt I would watch anything along these lines again.

I consider myself a huge Segura fan, so was excited for this show. Well, it doesn't take long to devolve into filth.

I'm no prude, and I know Segura's typical humor. But this show is at times over the top obscene. I felt like an edgy teen wrote half the scenes, not Segura himself. You spend more time looking away wincing than laughing.

It's not all bad, though. There are moments of brilliance and belly laughing laced throughout. I wish they could have captured more of that.

No idea where it can go from here. Hopefully a one off idea that fizzles out. Would love them to sponsor more of his standups, and less of whatever you call this.

Tom Segura's Bad Thoughts is exactly what the title promises - a no-holds-barred dive into the most twisted corners of his comedic mind. Known for pushing the boundaries of taste, Segura doesn't just cross the line in this special - he annihilates it. With brutal honesty and a delivery that's as deadpan as it is devastating, he takes aim at everything from personal trauma to the absurdities of everyday life.

The humor is dark, crude, and unapologetically offensive. If you're easily shocked or looking for clean laughs, this isn't the show for you. But for fans of his previous work - or those who appreciate comedy that's fearless, sick-minded, and brilliantly wrong - Bad Thoughts is a masterclass in how far stand-up can go when it refuses to play nice.

It's not for the faint of heart, but that's exactly the point.
