The shooting of the movie kicked off in grand fashion with Padma Shri Kamal Haasan turning on the camera and director A.R Murugadoss clapping the clapboard for the first shot.
Arya, who is generally a stress buster in movie sets, had a ball of a time in the sets of Raja Rani. Incidentally he had got into an uncontrollable split during a sentiment sequence that Nayanthara had to think of pouring glycerin into his eyes to make him cry. The team supposedly became great friends that Atlee called Nayanthara as 'darling' and Nazriya as 'sweetheart'.
It is mentioned that Sathyan almost lived in the character of a call center executive that he began to understand the true feelings of real call center representatives and even requested his friends not to call helpline numbers for silly things.
Santhanam plays the character of Sarathy, who is Arya's friend. He is not just a comedian in the film. His role has an important part to play in the development of the story.
This film would eventually cause Atlee's frequent contribution with Kollywood superstar Thalapathy Vijay. Thalapathy Vijay would see this film and express an interest in working with Atlee who would also share the same interest in working with the former.
