Vivian, a recent graduate and now assistant teacher at the Beaumont Conservatory of Music, has hidden away from her love of the cello because of her fear of failure. When her former professor asks her to help a new student, Vivian's classical learning contends with the student's radical modernism. By being forced to confront the idea of prioritizing passion above perfection, Vivian dives deeper into her estranged connection to music.
