I absolutely love The Rookie! It's one of those shows that keeps you on the edge of your seat while also giving you those heartwarming moments that make you smile. As someone who's been watching from the beginning, I can honestly say it just keeps getting better.
One of the standout elements of the show for me is the amazing dynamic between Tim Bradford and Lucy Chen. Their chemistry is undeniable, and I'm completely invested in their journey, both as partners in the field and as individuals. Tim is such a great mentor to Lucy, but you can also see their friendship grow into something more. I love how they balance each other out - Tim's gruff, no-nonsense attitude paired with Lucy's determination and kindness creates such a fantastic dynamic. Watching their relationship evolve is one of the highlights of the series for me.
The storylines are gripping, and each episode delivers a perfect blend of action, drama, and heart. The show doesn't shy away from real-world issues, but it also knows how to inject humor and lighter moments to keep things balanced. And the other characters are just as fantastic - the ensemble cast does a great job of rounding out the show.
If you haven't started watching The Rookie yet, I highly recommend it. It's full of suspense, emotion, and characters you can't help but root for - especially Tim and Lucy! They've definitely earned a special place in my heart.

As a regular reviewer, I've presented my vision on the episodes and on the show in general, I can say that this premiere is not good... After the hit-or-miss season 6 we would expect to at least see the slowed reaction of the writers and showrunners to the criticism regarding the absence of global plots and of the excessive accent on the relationships aspect but it's not much of a case here, sadly. Let's be frank here, the good days and glory of this show is in the past when Jackson was around.
Speaking of this episode, there is a couple of things that influence my judgement deeply:
In short, on the contrary to my expectations of season 6, thanks to season 6 I don't expect this season to be innovative or evolving, just a cementized formula that will likely never change.
Speaking of this episode, there is a couple of things that influence my judgement deeply:
- Absolute zero plot connection whatsoever to the previous stories, just another "one episode one story" episode. It really becomes pointless to see those characters outside the global plot lines because we always have a fresh plot start that ends with nothing and no characters evolve. Those beloved characters simply become fan-service meatbags that only exist for the sake of saying the lines so actors get paid and the network keeps things stable and stale.
- High stakes seem to be present in this episode but would you look at that, it ain't working, for the reasons why this show is failing: totally unrealistic police that always wins, absence of bigger plots, no consequences for the characters. Like in one of the moments a character is faced with a difficult choice, he doubts, second time he doubts but has a try and wins, like sure thing he would win, that's what this all is about - cheap intensity that is always safe for the characters. The writing is boring because sooner or later they'd better at least try to subvert expectations by making something like "first he doubts, second time tries and fails miserably, drama amplified, character's spiritually broken by the tragedy" - just imagine if that were true, it would make so much more value to one single episode over many combined, it could even outplay the massiveness of the dramatic effect since Andersen.
In short, on the contrary to my expectations of season 6, thanks to season 6 I don't expect this season to be innovative or evolving, just a cementized formula that will likely never change.
Loved the premiere.
So much action. So many gunfights - Nolan blaming himself for not taking the shot when the robbery was happening. Grey has finally been promoted to Lieutenant after what seemed to be forever.
So happy that Celina is finally in short sleeves. I really wanted to see her in short sleeves and now we finally do. Her also talking to the new rookies and helping them with the basics of the rules.
Chenford banter was on top. Lucy unable to resist from making a bet with Tim about the new rookies. Tim being kinda jealous when Penn was looking at Lucy that way. The last scene between them was good. Lucy ooking through the rearview mirror. They're definitely in a happier stage.
Angela and Wesley drama between the detective is so interesting at the moment. They way his face went after he said Angela Lopez in the recording. The Wopez scene was really good as well.
I NEED THE NEXT EPISODESS.

Once again this show is so unrealistic and foolish cops don't act that way and stations aren't running like that.
It's all pure fiction. An officer channel is so weak. They never put her on the street.
And what's with those two female detectives that dress like homeless people and they say their lines like they're reading them off a script? There's just no energy there.
What's with the new rookies? One of them is like a 12-year-old kid and the other is like a gangster rapper wannabe that lives in his car. I mean totally stupid and ridiculous.
My girlfriend loves this show but I can't watch it. It's just too stupid and to unrealistic. Go watch the new show on call on prime. It's way more realistic.

- GoofsIn the first scene, Nolan's earpiece is off his ear and then in the next shot it's on his ear without Nolan fixing it.
