Exclusive: Production has wrapped in Los Angeles on Red Flags, an indie rom-com starring Vanessa Simmons (Deadly Entanglement) and Melyssa Ford (Trapped in the Spotlight).
The film’s ensemble also features Travis Cure (Tyler Perry’s The Oval) and newcomer Jamy Pierrevil (Young. Wild. Free.)
Written by Roni Davis and directed by Caleb Davis, the film follows Ryan (Simmons), a bride-to-be whose wedding day unravels when her fiercely loyal best friend (Ford) uncovers a shocking secret about the groom (Cure). It’s hard not to think of the Nickelodeon heyday of the early 2000s when watching Lifetime’s I Am Your Biggest Fan, a film that traffics in the usual abduction themes with a ‘reboot’ twist.
Fifteen years ago, Delilah Douglas was the lead on a bog standard family sitcom called From the Hart. With her days as a tween star far behind her, Delilah is happily teaching high school students about Shakespeare when she gets the call: the sitcom has found new life in the age of streaming and the Hollywood suits have greenlit a contemporary reboot with the original cast reprising their roles.
The problem? Delilah has no interest in going back to acting. As revealed in flashbacks, Delilah’s acting career wasn’t her choice; her actions were being dictated by her emotionally abusive momager (Denise Gossett) who berated her for being exhausted or forgetting her lines.

Trapped in the Spotlight, the new Lifetime film about the tumultuous relationship of fictitious R&b singing duo Luscious, begins with a break-up.
On the cusp of releasing of their new album ‘Phoenix’, Lupita (Melyssa Ford) – the older, more seasoned performer – asks her boyfriend Marcel (Romaine Waite) to leak a story that Luscious is parting ways. This comes after Lupita sees younger member Neveah drinking to excess and making out with their manager Lenny (Glen Michael Grant) right before they take the stage.
With this slight bit of context, Lupita pulls the plug on not just the event, but the whole act. Just like that, Luscious is over.
The action picks up 15 years later: Lupita has retired from singing and has started a family with Marcel that includes pre-teen daughter Simone (Eden Cupid). Neveah, meanwhile, is still struggling to relaunch her music career, which means taking auditioning with up and...

Pinewood Unveils Revised Studios Expansion Proposal
Pinewood Group has revised its plans to expand its Buckinghamshire site and launched a new public consultation to discuss development options. While noting that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer recently called the site “the spiritual home of the British film industry,” Pinewood said proposals include additional stages and production facilities, alongside a new data center. This would use space to the south of the existing Pinewood Studios. Pinewood Group CEO David Conway said the “reduction in global content production, combined with rising construction costs and business rates,” had triggered the review of existing planning consent. The public consultation will take place on February 25-27. Along with Shepperton, Pinewood is a fable British studio, home to huge hits including Bond movies, Star Wars and Bridgerton.
