I've watched this movie in Netflix randomly and it was such a heartfelt movie. The story is a typical Filipino family reality experience as I felt every scene at the middle part of the movie when the characters unraveled all their struggles individually that affected the outcome for their family's being. Vice Ganda managed to fulfill a moving and interesting character, how everything aligned to how the movie ended was really a chef's kiss. Kudos also on how this movie made me realized that it is really not wrong to help and love your family truly, especially in providing everyone's need and your unconditional love to them. But also, to not forget yourself in the process, to also focus on making sure that you are healing your inner child for your own peace and mental being. It is not wrong to choose yourself when it comes to forgiveness and being grateful in life. This movie provided an impact on how you can build your own life and career while you are also helping other people around you, by choosing yourself and happiness before anyone else.
It's a story about a typical Filipino family - complete with extended relatives and all the drama that comes with it. It follows the struggles of an OFW breadwinner, Bambi, who's been working abroad for years. But when she finally comes home, expecting to see the house she's been sending money for... surprise! It doesn't exist. Turns out, her brother spent the money and even pawned the house.
The movie hits hard because it's so real. A lot of Filipinos with family abroad can relate to this. When you're working overseas, people just assume you're loaded. They keep asking for money until you're left with almost nothing for yourself. Sad but true. Not everyone's like that, but it happens more often than we'd like to admit.
It also highlights the tight-knit bond Filipino families are known for. Whether they're going through tough times or enjoying the good ones, they stick together no matter what. That's just how it is here.
As for the ending? Just be prepared - emotionally and with lots of tissues.
And the Breadwinner is a heavy drama with just the right touch of comedy, which I really enjoyed. The production value is quiet good and the soundtrack in the end? Chef's kiss - it's deep and meaningful. And of course, Vice Ganda totally nailed the role - no surprise there!

When I saw the news about it people are going crazy in the cinemas to watch it, I thought it's probably really good. So I watched it with my whole family, it was an okay movie. We got bored and lost interest in the middle of the movie when the actor was making jokes. We were expecting more drama and more delivery of the message that they wanted to show.
It does give the movie the hype that it will be dramatic and relatable to the Filipino audience. And, it did.
It strike me on how the actors and actresses deliver raw emotions and scenes of how they act as a Family. Don't forget the lines, I wanna commend to that.
But what I like about is that even though they fought, argue, reprimand or rub it in, they act as one loving and supporting family. Even though it's too late, ugh... I hate that word too late. But it did execute the story in the good way possible.
I would recommend to watch it but takes some breather in watching heavy scene.
