This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans

I've rewatched this series more times than I can count. It's that good. Only 8 episodes, but it gives you everything: humor, drama, tension, and some of the best acting I've seen in a BL. The entire cast is amazing, and even the second couple shines.

But the real heart of the show is Sailub and Pon. Their chemistry is unbelievable. So natural and intense, it stays with you. I fell in love with them instantly and assumed they had other shows together. I was shocked to find out this is their only main series. Just this. And then Pit Babe, where they're barely featured as a side couple.

With a pairing this strong, it's honestly wild that we haven't gotten more. This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans is a gem.

Patrons of this restaurant are served Basil flavored cuisine without long beans because the chef's ex-faen dislikes the latter while current faen loves the former ingredients. This series could be misleading in multiple ways. It is not even arousing watching man on man everywhere in the kitchen, half naked despite not being an AV. Some viewers seemingly broke the LEFT arrow key yet 'Loong' and 'Plawan' interaction didn't work for me. They are the second most recognized CP in CHANGE2561 but I suggest the agency drops promoting them or does Phon a favor by finding him a complimenting partner. 'Kenta-Kim' barely shared a scene in 'Pitbabe', how did people end up shipping them? Milu...(sighing in disappointment) I would like to watch them in an intense script before opinionating. Roles offered are definitely different from their previous ones but not every rain drop turns into a pearl.

I might be biased in reviewing this series, because it incorporated two of my favorite couple in Pit Babe series, Sailub-Pon and Benz-Garfield. But that doesn't necessarily mean that what I'm going to write is not true. This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans doesn't beat around the bush and gets straight to the point, that's why it only consists of 8 episodes. You won't get bored watching it cause there are no unnecessary long scenes. Everything they put up in every episodes are essential to the plot. Every conflict that occurred are simple & logical, no complicated bull crap like in some cheap soap operas where the conflicts were made unresolved for too long just for the sake of stretching the number of episodes. The acting was decent for most actors, especially the main couple. I'm so glad that they gave Sailub-Pon the main couple position in this series. If you've watched Pit Babe, you'd know that they have this strong chemistry going on. I'm also ecstatic that they decided to give Benz-Garfield the second couple position, since they never had anything going in Pit Babe. And boy, they do deserve it!

Why did I sleep on this series?! If I had known it was an enemies-to-lovers story, I would've watched it way sooner, lol! I got hooked right from the first episode.

Plawan is a self-proclaimed popular vlogger, but in reality, he's broke. He's clumsy and chaotic, full of crackhead energy, which I absolutely love! It's a complete 180 from his character in Pitbabe. On the other hand, Oab owns a famous restaurant and plays a serious, no-nonsense chef who barely smiles-total opposites.

Plawan might not be good at cooking, but he's surprisingly sharp when it comes to tasting and analyzing food, which earns him a spot in the training. The tension between him and Oab? So real.

The side couple's story is also worth watching. JJ and Methas constantly bicker at first, but JJ gradually breaks through Methas's cold exterior. Their chemistry isn't exactly explosive, but their story is still captivating. JJ is Methas' therapist, while Methas is your classic billionaire CEO who believes money solves everything. But when Methas comes in with his nonstop flirting, it's honestly adorable and had me smiling like a fool. This series really shows how love can change someone.

Now let's talk about the NC scenes-whoa. Episode 5 has one of the spiciest NCs I've ever seen. Nothing feels forced, it's clear that Sailun and Pon are super comfortable with each other, just like in Pit Babe. The scene is short but wild, and the background music gives it a Western movie vibe. Loved it.

There's a love triangle (even a square at one point), but surprisingly, it's not toxic at all. Yes, there are a few cliché scenes here and there, but the plot flows really well. The ending felt a little rushed, though.

Acting-wise, everyone delivered. I especially have to give props to Aon, who plays Kluea. I didn't know this actor before, but he seriously blew me away. He nailed every emotion-even just through his eyes. Also, the OST lineup in this series is chef's kiss-every track was a joy to hear. The cinematography? Another big plus.

Overall, it totally exceeded my expectations. If you're looking for something light, sweet, and full of lovey-dovey moments, This Love Doesn't Have A Long Beans is a must-watch!
