The negative reviews here are from people who have no concept of comedy and subjectivity.
They think that if they didn't find it funny, then it isn't funny and its the performers fault for writing something terrible.
If you don't understand that comedy is ABSOLUTELY subjective then you shouldn't be posting reviews for them. You're not qualified because you don't even understand the thing your reviewing.
You need to understand a topic before you start sharing your thoughts on that topic.
Otherwise you're basically posting the same reviews of those people who leave reviews for movies they haven't watched or books they haven't read.

An almost one hour standup show from los angeles, by the co star of hacks (also showing on Max) ! What steps her parents went to in trying to have a boy... clearly, the process didn't work as planned. And who knew she was the daughter of laraine newman?? Too cool. Why she's late to work, what her real purpose is at work. Why she drives a prius and why she's a vegan. And it's not for the usual reasons! And why they only planted male trees in parks for a while. Why we need to save the bees, and the female trees! Pretty funny stuff. At one point, she starts a joke over... was that for effect, or did she really just want to start over again? She shares a lot, and gives a lot of opinions... and some attitude! Directed by sandy honig.
I honestly love her in Hacks, apart from a few overly PC moment, which is brought back down to earth by her amazing co star. This special has a few funny moments in this. I am a female, but I feel there was too much male bashing for me. I love her candor and the straight face she keeps while telling her stories, yet it fell a little too flat for me. I did watch it all way though just to give a fair review. But, I don't want to watch comedy about veganism, climate change and feminism. I want to watch comedy to give me escape from these political issues. Waiting for the next season of Hacks though :)
She and Jean are so good in Hacks, but this is a bizarre and welcome introduction in to a very brilliant and anarchical mind.
I mean, who knew a few slices of the high school sports-oriented history (no spoilers) of this ballsy, artsy, nerdy woman could be so surprising and funny.
I am not a big fan of TV stand-up (though I loved "I'm Dying Up Here") but she wooed me in like a pro.
Yes, I DO want to see comedy about climate change and bees and trees and men and women if it's done the way Hannah does it.
It also gave me insight into why 'Hack's is so great. Very different styles of comedy challenge viewers (or at least me) to see the humor and the macabre in our lives. Grateful for some resounding belly laughs at a dark, accurate, and refreshing lens on a crazy world.
Loved it!

Just oozes creativity, performance skills, and funny in the brain. Hannah's acting chops and writing chops meet in a carefully produced, exquisite theatre performance. Her material is surprising and hilarious. This is not the relaxed, let's-see-what-happens style of stand-up with the predictable "let's say the stuff we're not supposed to say" yuck-yuck jokes. No, this is exciting, thoughtful, exhilarating stuff that kept me on the edge for the whole almost hour. And Hannah's delivery is in a class of its own, among comics. She's an actual actor, and every line is delivered in character. Sometimes the character is Hannah, but just as often some other imaginary persona. You have to stay on your toes just to keep up with her, but if you can stay in the flow, it's fantastic.
