Han Sunhwa plays Go Eun-ha who is a struggling child content provider on the internet (We tube) and longs to reunite with a childhood friend who disappeared and she blames herself for this. Uhm Tae-goo plays Seo Ji-hwan the son of a mob boss who betrayed his father and is now trying to run a legal meat packing plant employing ex cons to give them a chance to redeem. Circumstances bring these two together and over time the cold indifferent CEO begins to be attracted to the free spirited entertainer. The story is one of redemption but also has a back story of a jealous gang member who hates him and will take revenge as he is jealous of his success. We have the usual love triangle, quirky sidekicks and a cute second couple but for me it is ok but misses the mark. Too many advert type interruptions and the balance of serious and funny does not work although it has a good cast and some funny and touching moments.
Thank you director for this amazing drama. Um tae hoo's acting is top notch. All the casting is very well done and their acting is amazing. Didn't even felt in one scene they are acting, they were living in their character. The story is very beautiful. It makes you laugh, sad. So many emotions. Its like a roller coster. Loved this drama so much. It made me sad when it ended. Hope to see um tae ho soon in other drama. This drama is very underrated. This drama is worth more than queen of tears. Hope everyone appreciate this gem. Every one should watch this drama. I'm going rewatch this million times.
I literally laugh out loud every episode. As mentioned in the comments, it's a light-hearted drama-nothing too serious and sometimes downright ridiculous. But it's one of those feel-good shows that brighten your day. For the past eight weeks, it's been such a joy to watch every Wednesday and Thursday. I enjoyed every minute of My sweet mobster; what an awesome cast, great job Uhm Tae Goo and Han Sunhwa and the Thirsty deer team!. You all did a great job with this. I really hope for a season 2 so I can look forward to more laughs and fun. Some people in the review section need to lighten up, jeez!
The wait from week to week for new episodes is so difficult because this drama is so much fun to watch. The main and supporting characters are endearing, there's a lot of comedy, the sets and filming are eye candy, there are healthy ideas about withholding judgment and second chances and having the courage to live the life you want, the female lead feels real and genuine like she could be any of us, and the male lead's voice and facial expressions just draw you in and keep you hooked. The ensemble works well together and has a positive energy that reminds me of the ensemble in CLOY. There are a lot of commonalities actually, so if you liked the interactions between the characters there, you will probably like them here too. Kudos to the directors of My Sweet Mobster for bringing all of that out from the cast.
There are a couple of details that I didn't care for (the kitty villain's character is very off to me, and I didn't like that the female lead actually accepted to clean her colleague's home and especially didn't like the low-self-esteem, ingratiating way she conducted herself in that scene; I could have swallowed it if she had handled herself differently or had cleaned anyone else's home like a normal job instead of allowing herself to be used like that by someone with ungenerous intentions). But overall, this drama has been a very enjoyable watch and keeps us looking forward with much anticipation to each new episode. Yes, it contains lots of tropes and silliness, but in a good way that is entertaining. This drama is addictive and sweet like candy and will give you the same little boost that candy does.

I truly enjoyed watching this drama. Initially, I had low expectations, but it pleasantly surprised me in the best possible way. The show was warm, funny, and incredibly adorable, making it a delightful watch from start to finish. My favorite aspect was the main couple-their chemistry was extraordinary and unique, setting them apart from typical on-screen pairs. They brought so much heart and authenticity to their roles, creating moments that were both touching and hilarious. The way their relationship developed felt natural and engaging, keeping me invested in their story throughout. I will genuinely miss seeing them together on screen, as their dynamic was one of the highlights of the drama. This show exceeded my expectations and left a lasting impression on me.
