MAYONAKA PUNCH

This comedy series is centred on Masaki Sonoue and a family of vampires she meets in the opening episode. Masaki was a 'NewTuber' and posted videos with two other girls but after punching one of her colleagues she is kicked off their video show. Shortly afterwards she meets Live, a vampire who is keen to drink her blood... Masaki tells her she can on one condition; they must create a new online show and get a million subscribers. Masaki will work behind the scenes while Live and her sisters appear in the videos... the catch is they can't reveal that they are vampires.

I thought this series was rather fun with its delightfully over the top characters. It is very much a comedy and delivers a good number of laughs in every episode. The plot is silly but fun. The characters designs are good as is the animation. Overall I'd say that while this might not be a must watch it is certainly worth giving a try if you like comedy anime. If we get a second season I'd certainly watch.

Mayonaka Punch is the show about 5 girl failures, but damn if they aren't cute being on NewTube.

The show feels like it knows YouTube culture and just how bad things can go, in a live stream. And it tackles well the mental spiral, one can go down when bad YouTube drama happens.

The characters are just nice to see together, but sadly lack deep, That's kind of the whole thing about the anime, it lacks character deep so it had to get truly invested.

The Show has such a hyper energy, that it's hard not to get picked up in it. So many scenes where they do some silly stuff, that I have seen on YouTube, and it always made me have a smile.

One thing that show does well, with a bit of depth is the main characters fear of internet comments, and how just looking at bad comments makes her go into a panic almost.

Silly fun and cute designs not much deep, but hey you don't need it always.
