The film is dedicated to Jeff Wise, who played Howard Hughes. He died shortly after filming his scenes following a two year battle with cancer.
Gena Burghoff, who played Howard Hughes' secretary, is the daughter of Emmy Award winning actor Gary Burghoff (Radar on M*A*S*H). Her last feature film before "A Letter for Joe" was acting with her famous dad in 1995.
