    Eye candy

God I can't stress enough how refreshing this short way. The medium of short form storytelling was created for portraying stories like these.

Nowadays most short films I see repeat the same mistake of having an overambitious script that the time constraint of this artform just cannot accommodate. Not this one. This one knows exactly what it wants to be and embodies it to perfection.

The cinematography, the colours, the sound design - perfect. It was so refreshing to see some real film grain. It just makes it feel real you know. Authentic - that's a word :)

The charecters are interesting to a point even without no dialogue, I felt like by the end of the credits I got to know a vulnerable piece of them.

Congrats to the entire team for the production. I throughly enjoyed my time with it. Looking forward to what you guys make next :)

    Big Take

A visually appealing short film with a sound that takes you many years back, applying that nostalgic approach to classic movies. With just 4 minutes, "Big Take" entertains the viewer, not wasting a single second and showcasing its great potential.

Alex Brooks did an incredible job, with some pretty epic camera work and well-crafted sequences. For being a rather simple production, its quality is phenomenal. What is conveyed and that fluidity between scenes demonstrate the talent of this director.

That nostalgic approach due to its style leaves a rather pleasant short film. Accompanied by a quite solid musical score and sound. Providing a perspective on the expressions and experiences of our protagonists. One can also include that formidable cinematography.

In the acting department, actor John Scott Horton does an excellent job. His performance of pursuit, charisma, expressions, and playfulness create a well-executed character. That essence of connecting with the audience speaks for itself.

The short film refers to the mediocrity of justice on some occasions, where quality work is not carried out due to unqualified personnel, and often the opposing team has a significant advantage and skill on the streets.

From a reflective standpoint, "Big Take" emphasizes the conveniences of life, its alternatives, personal motivations, the excitement tied to adrenaline, and the enjoyment certain criminals feel in carrying out their exploits. Moreover, that within certain walls everyone is the same, observing their weaknesses, disadvantages, and taking advantage of them for whoever is the highest bidder. The agility and cleverness of many people are the annoyances of others.

It's worth giving it a chance. We want more of this, please!

Big action in a small package

With a runtime of just three minutes, this film sits somewhere between a micro short and the traditional short films we're used to seeing. Despite its brief length, it feels much longer-in a good way. Surprisingly, a lot happens within those three minutes: it starts with explosive action in the form of a police chase, shifts to a suspenseful waiting game, and concludes with a humorous twist. The lack of dialogue between the two main characters, who share a common enemy and a reason to hide, is an effective storytelling choice. While the plot twist at the very end is somewhat predictable and has been used in various forms in other films, it still provides a satisfying conclusion.
