This movie isn't for everyone. But if you relate to the characters or any part of the story, you simply can't take your eyes off it.
3BHK revolves around a middle class family tired of shifting between rented houses, dreaming of building a home of their own. But life, as always, has other plans.
It beautifully captures the everyday struggles of middle-class families who work relentlessly with the hope of moving to a better place in life. And when life knocks them down, they don't give up, They just can't give up. The weight on their shoulders won't let them. They adjust, they sacrifice, and they keep moving forward with hope.
It hits you with the truth that life is not easy, and it's not fair for everyone. We are blessed with what we have now, but this is not the time to stop and relax. We have to keep moving forward with resilience.
3BHK overwhelms you with a mix of emotions sorrow, happiness, anger, and above all, hope.

This review expresses my deep feelings about the movie:
From beginning to end, it evokes a soft, loving sensation. The cast was excellently selected for each role, and everyone was given their moment to shine at just the right time.
* The film demonstrates that hard work pays off and emphasizes the importance of perseverance.

Revolving around a middle class family that dreams of having their own house someday, 3BHK is an emotional family drama that many people will be able to relate with themselves.
The film portrays an honest, if not accurate, portrayal of a middle class family that goes through a lot in their personal lives, to grow and buy a house for themselves. Siddharth as Prabhu was a good act as an underperforming son, while the rest of the cast did a good job too.
The only thorn was the uneven pacing and multiple time skips throughout the movie. I just feel like the characters and their struggles could have been explored a little more. At 140 minutes, the film feels a little stretched out, given the story of the film. While I praise the film for it's story and emotional value, the plot itself was formulaic and functional.
Overall, 3BHK is a relatable story brought to the screen with good characters and emotional depth; but required more than formulaic treatment. Still, this movie deserves to be seen more..!!
My Rating : 3.5/5.

As a story - If you have been through the middleclass struggle, this film draws upon some of your lived experiences and hits you different. Countless people, sadly, strive to buy a house just to earn the society's respect for their family and this film addresses that. Unless you've been driven by such a desire, the film won't hit you in the feels the way it wants to. Those who've not lived that life will likely nitpicks and those who come from a place of privilege may find this film a tad dramatic, but my hope is that they're still able to leave the film with an optimism towards their future.
As a film - the casting for this film was interesting, Sarathkumar plays an understated head of the family, upon whom rest all the pressures, and he continues to stay resilient and move through life. Devayani evoked nostalgia but that's about it; anybody else could have played that role. Siddharth and Meetha shine through, and so does Chaithra, in her limited screentime. She and Siddharth had great chemistry. That scene at the store.......that was intense. I'd totally watch a spinoff about just them.
Aspects of the film felt...'commercial' every now and then; like, nobody in a 'lower-middleclass' family makes a checklist for monthly household savings on a chart-paper and sticks it on the wall (especially when you're in school...?) But gladly, this wasn't overdone to the extent that it took you out of the plot. The writing does enough to make you care enough to see if they end up buying a house or not and what that payoff looks like.
In an age when Tamil cinema seems to rely on bad, done-and-dusted, over-the-top action tropes, a film based on the tried and tested 'family values' isn't easy but the makers of 3BHK do enough to make sure you care for the family, their success and leaves with a feeling of "Ok, that was motivating. I guess figure this out". Watch this with your family!
