No parents would try to kill their elder son just to keep the new born baby while they can give the baby away to have both live. Insane plot. The showrunner has to be a sociopath to think it would work.
Not to mention the rest of the plot since season 1 makes no sense. This is at best a 5 out of 10 rating show overall and the new season is horrible.

Once again this show delivers. If I'm being honest I wasn't sure about the Mallow story and the two influencers but I, as usual, should not have doubted the writers. Their interactions and character moments were the second best part of the episode. The clear best part was the Mule's backstory. It was so well acted, shot and written I cannot wait for the final three episodes. And once again: Apple Tv, please give this show the eight season it wants!
Ignore any reviews under 7 stars. This show gets better and better and the more I learn and understand, the more I love it. I'm not going to pick it apart scene by scene, character by character because you either get it or you don't. It's brilliant and affecting I can't wait for the last 3 episodes and hopefully more series.
I tend to go for surrealism and abstract stories, but this syrupy heavy-handed self-indulgent self-importance just shows the focus on the clone empire is a narrative dead-end the show runners are stuck in. All exposition but no actual narrative or coherent story, with dialogue and characters that are so heavy, dramatic and unnatural that demonstrates clearly the show isn't going anywhere but slowly circulating the drain of mysticism that they have tied themselves to and can't escape.
This episode has nothing to do with the books, even The Mule's origin story is wrong at this point.
The entire show has been a disappointment so far, I don't get why it is called "Foundation", it should be called "Fever Dreams inspired by Foundation" or something similar as there are so many divergences from the books that it no longer has anything to do with many of the plot lines in the books.
I assume that people that did not read the books find it cool, but this is nowhere near The Expanse when it comes to adapting the books to a TV series.
At least The Expanse had the advantage of both writers being still alive and involved in the show, together with a good showrunner. This show has the disadvantage of the author being dead and some people doing whatever they like with the author's work, like throwing various things in a mixer and expecting something interesting to come out of it at some point.
