    Two phony scenes

This Pure Taboo DVD presents two scenarios about guys obsessed following the departure (death perhaps) of their wives, neither of which are believable or satisfying. I would nominate it as the worst DVD ever issued from this series.

Title scene is built around one of those highly realistic (and expensive) sex dolls as a principal character and it makes for a very dumb vignette.

Kendra Sutherland finds the love doll in her man Nathan Bronson's closet and is shocked. He comes home and explains he became attached to "her" (script fails to give the doll a name) when he was depressed following his wife's death, and gets great pleasure and solace f*cking it. He offers to show Kendra, and very quickly into the scene we have a threesome.

Bronson humping the doll in both holes is heightened by the extremely realistic look of its skin, and Kendra enjoys the 3-way, but her acting is poor -her character is about as lifeless as the doll. Nothing much happens other than Nathan's money shot on Kendra's breasts. The doll looks eerie and quite creepy with its lifeless stare. I suppose the kinkiness of humping the doll is all this scene has to offer, a gimmick previously used in the series in a Tommy Pistol/Whitney Wright scene "The Aura Doll" that won Tommy two fake industry "acting awards".

Anatomik Media (Dan & Rhiannon) directed "Smile for the Camera" an extremely poor Pure Taboo exercise, suffering from a worthless script by Lapis Afterglow. It sets up a slightly cryptic situation, fails to adequately explain what is really going on, and then fails to resolve anything, omitting an ending.

Watching it, I instinctively tried to fill in the blanks on the spot myself in order to make sense out of the "missing information" problem. We have Johnny Goodluck, overacting preposterously, as he has his cellphone set up to photograph sex in his bedroom but becomes maniacally angry when Victoria Voxxx enter. He complains at the top of his lungs that her lipstick is wrong, her hair's not right! No, she doesn't match what his wife looked like. There are photos of him and his wife and of course this crummy scene has Voxxx in the photos, not another similar looking model -another mistake.

So she dutifully protests but follows his orders, fixes herself up and they hump for 40 minutes. He's promised "he'll take care of her for life", and after his money shot she asks him about that promise but he doesn't answer. The end.

I thought she was a prostitute, but that doesn't seem right. He puts his wife's ring on her finger, and its importance seems overemphasized. The "taken care of for your life" suggests something macabre, like killing her after sex, but that's a red herring. No, the scene is meaningless and irritating. It's clear that serving fans with a dose of explicit sex is its only meaning.
