The mission of the scientists in each episode was different enough to keep me totally hooked each time. I learned SO much and was blown away by the amazing visuals that were caught for this series. I'm in total awe of our world, the depths of our oceans, and the magnificent creatures (big and small) that roam them and in many cases have managed to survive through so much over so many years. Very cool that James Cameron narrates it and the ship Ocean Explorer is truly outstanding in its capacities. Hammerhead Highway was my favorite episode, but I loved them all. I want my kids to watch these now!
Well, what can I say?
OceanXplorers is an absolute gem for anyone fascinated by the mysteries of the deep sea. This series brilliantly combines stunning cinematography with cutting-edge marine science, offering viewers an immersive experience into the hidden wonders of our oceans. Each episode is a captivating blend of adventure, discovery, and environmental awareness, taking us to breathtaking underwater landscapes that few have ever seen.
The expert narration and the passion of the marine biologists featured in the show add a rich layer of authenticity and depth to the storytelling. From vibrant coral reefs to eerie deep-sea creatures, OceanXplorers captures the beauty and fragility of marine life in a way that is both educational and awe-inspiring.
The show not only highlights the incredible diversity of life beneath the waves but also underscores the urgent need for conservation efforts to protect these fragile ecosystems. Whether you're a marine enthusiast or just someone who loves a well-crafted documentary series, OceanXplorers is a must-watch. It's an epic journey into the heart of our planet's most enigmatic frontier, leaving you with a renewed sense of wonder and respect for the ocean.
If you're a film junkie like myself then you'll appreciate the time and effort that James Cameron and everyone else put in to make this happen.
I enjoyed it. Not my place to say where it could have been improved. It is what it is.
Thank you.

There was no warning from them about a scene in the first episode where orcas kill a baby humpback whale and
I still feel sick to my stomach and I'm really depressed and I have lost all trust in National Geographic, James Cameron, Hulu and Disney
Why would they show the disgusting things like the baby humpback without any warning for sensitive viewers?
I won't watch another episode of this vile series It keeps replaying in my mind and I'm shocked, anxious and really sad, the world has become so cruel and this only proves it For shark documentaries they don't show the cruel hunting great white sharks do without a warning for sensitive viewers If they can do that with sharks they can do it for other species I used to love National Geographic and the documentaries they put out, now I just get angry when I hear about them I feel betrayed and victimized and I'm having ptsd issues that are horrible I expected better from Cameron and I don't think I can forgive him National Geographic could go bankrupt and I would celebrate at this point I want to contact them.

If you're an animal lover, you will have a very hard time watching some of this.... They focus a lot (too much for me, I had to forward past most of it) on animals killing animals .... It's understood that "everything needs to eat", however, showing the process and torturous death that one animal has to endure to feed another just goes against one of the main reasons behind this type of show : for people to fall in love with the animals and want to conserve them.... Seeing a Killer Whale hunt and kill, particularly a baby whale, in high def detail does the exact opposite for most folks. There is so much beauty in the natural world, there is no reason to be so obsessively focused on showing the cruelty- particularly if you're not going to warn your audience that some of the material you find so fascinating in your scientific detachment is actually quite upsetting.
Also had to fast forward through much of the tech stuff.... Easily half the first episode, for instance, focused on the technology.... Most viewers want to see the amazing underwater "stuff" not listen to you go on and on about the tech. I get it, it's amazing and groundbreaking, but, to focus on it for half the episode frankly gets boring.
Definitely wouldn't want young kids to see this; they'd likely be in tears. Those who can't stomach seeing the cruelty of the natural world, be warned.
Honestly came away from the first episode thinking that scientists and some nature filmmakers just have no heart with the way they talk about and get excited over a living thing getting killed in such horrible drawn out ways.
Worth watching on a platform that allows the viewer to fast forward. Would give 10 stars for the cinematography, 5 stars overall due to how the episodes are put together, and there really should be a disturbing content warning with some of what's presented.

This series uses amazing images to tell stories about the creatures and aquatic communities under the sea. The use of graphics, holograms, clear and colorful photography, and some amazing videos gets me lost in the story. And these episodes are indeed stories. They don't just educate and expose me to environments and creatures I've never seen, they help me understand how they live and how our behavior can impact them. I also enjoy that at the end of each episode they recap what was learned in that episode.
The equipment used in these episodes is truly remarkable and creates opportunities that make even the experts sit back in awe!
