The surrounding area includes the charming village of Virginia Water, which stretches out to the lake's eastern side. As they arrived, Jackson and his sisters were captivated by the lake's serene setting, enjoying the warm summer day surrounded by lush greenery and blooming flowers. They discovered that the lake grounds, along with nearby Fort Belvedere and the iconic Clockcase, are all Grade I listed on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens, underscoring the area's historical significance.
