Not for Minors
The Mangaka of this piece somehow incorporates a limerence arc on the overall story that borders lolicon. On Ep.5, the minor impulsively kissed her mentor out of overwhelmed emotions that her mentor is going to leave her. No correction on the part of the mentor on how such action should not be warranted, but was used as a subtext by another adult to blackmail him to continue being the minor's tutor.
several stories of personal growth marred by harem atmosphere
The good modern style animation, solid action sequences and emotional voice acting give a solid foundation to this anime. The cliche harem and under-aged crushes detract from the story.
Allen has just graduated from the academy as the number 2 student. (His magic skills are exceptional, but his below average mana limits what spells he can produce) His application to become a Royal Mage was rejected because Prince Gerard hates him with a vengeance. The Prince serves as the villain of the story. Desperate for work, Allen accepts the job of tutoring Tina, a Duke's daughter. So she can enter the Royal Academy. Tina seems to be around 14.
Allen is a kind and patient person, so it is no surprise that he becomes the focus of Tina's first romantic crush. The story is deliberately ambiguous about their relationship. Allen does not encourage her passion for him, but he does not discourage it either. Meanwhile, he has Lydia, a girl his own age, who is expected to become his fiance.
The strength of the story lies in how Allen identifies the personal challenges each character is facing. How he guides them and pushes them to move forward in their lives. Their gratitude brings them closer to him and creates a harem.
The weaknesses of the story are the cliches of the harem, the "mandatory" bath scene and trip to the hot springs. The ambiguity of the relationship with younger girls can be ignored by many, but some will find it objectionable. A few minor edits could have strengthened the final story by reducing the controversy.

Brainrot harem with minors slop with lower production quality of a cheap RPG's cut scenes
Brainrot harem with minors slop with lower production quality of a cheap RPG's cut scenes.
The harem trope is common in anime, but is usually accompanied by some redeeming qualities such as a compelling plot, likeable characters, interesting lore or engaging action. Private Tutor to the Duke's Daughter manages to dodge all that, or rather do all those things in the most poorly executed, mundane way possible and infuriate viewers with endless whining from stereotypical loli harem characters and the blandest protagonist ever who is a caricature of the rizz genre itself to the point of mental illness.
My condelescences to anyone who gave this show a shot and got moderately invested in the story, including myself.
