A sentimental horror film set in a dystopian present dominated by infected human beings, driven mad by an unstoppable pandemic - Barricaded in a cabin in the woods, Julian awaits the return of his beloved Muse of which he has lost track.

A mysterious contagion spreads across the globe, quickly causing the collapse of the civilized world and its institutions. The epidemic devastates humanity and infects people, who however do not die: they are not zombies, they are not rotting. Not "living dead" but "alive dying". The infected people remains still for many days when they are in catalepsy state, or they are moving in an almost imperceptibly way, few centimeters at a time. However, they are able to run very fast when they are awake, trying to catch the still healthy people, killing brutally anyone they can reach, due the disease that causes homicidal instincts and psychotic attitudes. A young couple on the run, Julian and Muse, seek refuge from a group of infected people who have a clown as leader. Following a violent fight with some of them, the two lovers lose sight of each other. Julian finds refuge in a small abandoned house in the open countryside, and he stays there waiting for his Muse to return. But someone else also lives in the cabin where Julian is hiding.
