Hard Landing

The Valhalla Group, seems to be modeled on the Russian state-funded Private Military Contractor known as the Wagner Group founded by Yevgeny Prigozhin (pronounced YEAH-V- GENY PRI-GOZ-IN). The Group name took its name from Composer Richard Wagner, who was favored by Adolf Hitler, the Chancellor of Nazi Germany. Some of his operas make use of the mythological figure known as the Valkyrie, handmaiden of the Supreme God Odin, who would escort fallen Viking warriors from the battlefield into the afterlife known as Valhalla. In June 2023, he led a failed coup against Vladimir Putin, followed by a negotiated surrender with the assistance of the Belarussian President. In August of that same year, Prigozhin and a number of members of the Wagner Group, died in a plane crash under mysterious circumstances. Putin nationalized the group, took control of Prigozhin's network of businesses, and rounded up the members of its executive staff.
