Twists, Tension, and Talent: Therapy Shines
Therapy is a gripping Indie standout movie that proves great storytelling doesn't need big budgets. The acting is strong and believable, the storyline is clever and full of tension, and the concept keeps you hooked from start to finish. Just when you think you've figured it out, the film twists again, keeping you guessing right to the final moments. Smart, engaging, and surprisingly polished, Therapy is a thoroughly enjoyable and thought provoking watch that deserves real praise.
Twisting thriller!!
I do love a good thriller movie with a twist and this did deliver! Few films can grip you right to the end to find out who the killer is but this does and even then your left in suspense very clever idea that. Reading this is a low budget movie is unbeleivable the acting was beleivable, story line fantastic and a great watch. If this producer had hollywood money he would be up there on the big screens 100%
Creepy, clever and low-budget brilliance!!!
Therapy is exactly the kind of indie thriller you hope to stumble across that while low budget is atmospheric and full of personality!
The cinematography makes great use of framing and monochrome to give certain parts a nightmarish edge.
The storyline itself is both impressive and quirky. There's one line in there that i think was a double entendre but like most of the film you're sort of second guessing everything! It starts out like a relatively straightforward psychological/crime setup, but a few creepy twists that takes it into a darker place. It's not wall-to-wall gore, but goes very hard in places. The confusion, tension and reveal around Jude Nichols is handled brilliantly. Some brilliant ensemble performances make it extra fun.
Overall, if you like indie thrillers that feel handcrafted, tense and just a bit off-kilter, Therapy absolutely deserves a watch!

My Thoughts on Therapy
I had the chance to watch Therapy at its first public screening, and I was genuinely impressed.
Dan's performance stood out immediately, he has a natural, effortless presence on screen that feels authentic and surprisingly polished. He carries scenes with a confidence that's very "Hollywood-ready."
Even with a few technical issues (which is completely normal for an early showing), the film itself feels incredibly promising. The pacing, atmosphere, and story all show real potential, and I honestly hope to see Therapy reach the big screens and streaming platforms in the future.
And truly everyone involved in this film should be really, really proud of what they've created.
It's a strong start and a clear sign of what's to come for the entire cast and for Scott Clist as a filmmaker.

Impressive debut feature from Scott Clist
Therapy, the debut feature from director Scott Clist, is a tightly focused psychological thriller that combines brooding atmosphere with character-driven tension. Built around the premise of a mentally-tortured homicide detective locked in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with a brutal serial killer, the film balances procedural grit with an emotional undercurrent that sets it apart from more conventional crime stories.
Clist's direction is assured and confident, especially for a first feature. He allows the story to unfold patiently, giving just enough information to keep the audience leaning forward while resisting the temptation to over-explain. The performances are compelling across the board: the detective's inner turmoil is portrayed with convincing weight, and the supporting cast add nuance and depth that enrich the film's psychological layers.
Visually, Therapy is striking. The cinematography leans into shadow, stillness, and tight framing to echo the protagonist's fractured state of mind. There are several standout moments where the visual choices heighten the tension without relying on cheap spectacle. The film's tone is further supported by well-judged sound design - dialogue, ambient noise, and music all work together to sustain a sense of unease that builds scene by scene.
The pacing is deliberate, occasionally slow, but intentionally so. This is a thriller that rewards patience, focusing more on atmosphere and internal conflict than on constant action. A few transitions could be slightly tighter, but the overall structure holds strong and keeps the narrative engaging throughout.
With Therapy, Scott Clist delivers a gripping and thoughtful psychological thriller that feels both intimate and unsettling. It's a confident debut that suggests a filmmaker with a clear vision and an instinct for tension and character. Fans of darker, more introspective crime dramas will find plenty to appreciate here, and it's an exciting first step in what will be a very promising career.
