Plot holes a mile wide, continuity errors (my pet peeve) and overall a very implausible story. Not sure why K9 is featured in the title, very few scenes with the dog, he's just a prop. How does a body fit in a hole that is 12 inches by 12 inches - exactly, it doesn't. The lines written for the actors were lame and delivered about as well. It never ceases to amaze me how writers expect their audiences to believe that a layperson can just insert themselves into a police investigation. Pretty soon people are going to stop watching these movies because they're cranked out without regard to quality. Come on, writers, do better.
This is the summary.
Man's best friend takes center stage in Hallmark Mystery's latest original movie, Jazz Ramsey: A K-9 Mystery. After seeing success from shows like Lassie and Hudson & Rex Hallmark Media knows audiences love a canine co-star!
Beware!!!!!
This is NOT a K-9 mystery. The dog is barely in it! Very misleading in the trailers. And the title! Very misleading.
Then when she is off to catch the killer Jazz asks the dog to stay with her friend.
The dog is not involved with case.
This was such a disappointment. I looked forward to this because I love the show Hudson and Rex but this did not satisfy. If they make more movies for Jazz Ramsey the dog needs to be in it more.

This is movie has an interesting plot that keeps you entertained and guessing the outcome. Jazz Ramsey, played by Rachel Skarsten, who trains crime detection dogs and they team up to solve mysteries with a little help from Nick-her ex-boyfriend and the town's lead detective, played by Corey Sevier. (and Corey is hot, hot, hot!) This episode involves accidently discovering remains of a body while demonstrating the talents of her crime detection dog to students at her old school. Jazz reflects on her school days and tries to free her friend, who is now the School Principal from being a suspect even though their is strong evidence that leads to her. Their is great chemistry between the two leads which despite their breakup you can sense they still have feelings for one another. The ending has a bit of a surprise. An entertaining movie, but I wish they had incorporated more of the dog in the story to make it true a K9 mystery.
I was really looking forward to this movie. Poorly written. She never has Zeus with her when she needs him and her she takes ridiculous chances putting herself in danger when investigating. Being clobbered by a 2x4 in the woods would never have happened if he had been running by her side and the degree of her injury did not make sense. At the least she should have had a concussion...a mere scratch on her forehead. Yea right! There are so many dumb instances it was hard to watch. Hudson and Rex is really a K9 series and much better written. If there is a follow up, please include Zeus; he is the draw!
First, the good. Rachel Skarsten did well in her role. She brought some much needed energy to the film. She wasn't great, but she was great by comparison.
Cory Sevier, on the other hand, was not great. And if you've seen him in other films then you know what I mean. Not sure what dirt he has on Hallmark execs to keep getting lead roles. But he's the most robotic lead in the Hallmark stable. And by extension that means there's never any romantic sparks in his films. This one is no different.
Th mystery itself was actually kind of interesting. But I agree with other reviewers that there was an especially large number of plot holes in this script. At times it felt like a minute couldn't go by without one. Cool twists though.
By the way, the song to close out the film was honestly a highlight. Great tune. It's called "I Think We Might Have Something" by Logan Richard.
