A Nostalgic and Powerful Look at 90s Latin America

No work of art is made to please everyone. Art is beautiful precisely because of its plurality, allowing certain works to find their way into your heart. No One Will Miss Us is a series that captures the reality of a Latin American city in the 90s. It might not make much sense to you, but if you're Latin and grew up in the 90s, it will hit home with spectacular quality. And even if you're not, this show has the potential to become a favorite because the storyline is engaging, and the performances are far from bad. The performances are solid, and the storyline engages with a simple yet effective approach.

    Amazing.

It was like remembering my school time. The series plays a lot with nostalgia, and I have read comments that the acting is bad, in fact I think it is excellent. The acting is excellent because this is how a high school kid acts in '94, it may seem like a poor or poor quality performance but the reality is that it is in keeping with the date and how people were in those years.

The script seems immature but the reality is that it is basic but it was like that back then, it is incredible that it touches a lot on the taboo topics that we found in those years and gives them visibility.

The story seems very light, it is very easy to watch and it hits you in the emotion and in the heart.

    The soundtrack is spectacular.

In reality, I think it is an excellent series and worth watching.

I went without expectations and I ended up watching an amazing TV show

The story is about high schoolers, where they have real teenage problems like school (the main plot starts because of it) and the characters still have a bit of their innocence.

Every character feels so real, I empathized with all of them and their friendship is so touching and pure. The chemistry between the main cast is amazing, I was immersed in 1994 the whole time and I completely forgot that the actors are actually Gen Z, and weren't teenagers 30 years ago.

I would definitely watch a second season of this show if they decide to continue (which I hope they do).

Oh, and the soundtrack is amazing, I'm not Mexican and now I have many Mexican songs from the 90s in my playlist.

    What a beautiful piece

As an adult who lived his teenage years in the 90s in Mexico's metropolitan area, and currently is struggling with mental health, this beautiful piece touched so many sensitive fibers.

The show's atmosphere is immersive, it took me back to my highschool years. I don't doubt that people who didn't live it, will be taken there too.

    It's easy to watch.

The cast is unbelievably perfect, they make you connect with the characters, care about them.

The story and everything is just so beautiful, lovely and emotive, it made write my very first IMDb review ever. And it became my favorite mexican TV show the moment I saw it.

    Easy viewing & 90s vibes

I enjoyed this. Most of the series felt really light, taking me back to a simpler, memorable era.

As a '90s kid, there's this nostalgia for a time when life was less complicated, when kids spent more time connecting face-to-face, playing in the schoolyard and passing notes written by hand. The series captures the innocence and intensity of teenage life from that time, focusing on friendship dramas and first loves.

The color palette also adds to the nostalgic feeling, just like looking at old photographs. The episodes are short enough to keep it simple, no heavy drama, just perfect for when you need to let go of your daily stress.

Initially I didn't understand why the series was titled that way, given its light tone, but by the end it became very clear and deeply moving...

If you're looking for a short series to help you unwind and enjoy some 90s vibes, you might like this.
