Erin Sanders (Traci Scott) and Catherine Dent (Melanie Scott) were working on their TV shows, Zoey 101 and The Shield before working together on this movie. In Zoey 101, Sanders played brainy girl Quinn Pensky. While in The Shield, Dent played patrol officer Danielle "Danny" Sofer; the lover to Michael Chiklis' character Vic Mackey. Coincidentally, both shows ended in 2008 and Zoey 101 aired during The Shield's 4th season.
Although this film was released in 2014, it was produced in 2013 according to the credits.
