Evgeniya and her husband move to St. Petersburg, where 10 years ago she met her first love - a young doctor Kirill, who soon disappeared, breaking her heart. Fate brings them together again... Evgeniya's husband gets into an accident and is operated on by the now famous surgeon Kirill Poletaev. This meeting awakens past feelings in them. Life presents them with new difficulties - Kirill's fiancée, having learned about their affair, threatens him with dismissal and arrest. Zhenya turns to Kirill's former friend Leon for help.
