    Truly shoking, yet so addictive

This series is a shocking portrayal of humans' lowest, darkest sides.

It highlights the extraordinary cruelty within the sex industry as the daily occurrence it usually is; very realistically so.

Therefore, this drama comes with a trigger warning in capital letters. Please mind that I do not joke around with these kinds of warning!

Also, in a roundabout way, this should remind you to pay people respect - regardless of their occupation. After all, while most of us have 'respectable' jobs, people easily forget to be thankful for others willing to do those 'not respectable' ones.

Never forget that prostitutes - especially those from sex/human trafficking - lead a far more dangerous live as they are the ones people with the most dangerous and/or extraordinary kinks go to!

This drama will show you some of those types of kinks - so, if you watch this, take these issues seriously!

Unscrupulous sex traffickers and pimps are represented in ways so real you will need a moment for yourself after each gruesome episode. It will remind you that we are all really privileged no matter how 'ordinary' our life might seem.

I was truly impressed in the best worst ways.

    Happy In The End... Finally!

This BL series is probably the darkest and bleakest one I've ever watched. I won't spoil anything, I'll just let you know that there's so many raw real life problems and conflicts in this series. So maybe I can say that this series is very different compared to other BL series. This crime-thriller-drama-romance series is full of pain and struggle, that it almost made me wanna stop watching it. Cause it's so painful for me to watch someone suffering that much. But thank God that I pushed through, cause they finally got their happiness in the end, just like the title! The acting is superb, from most actors anyway. The villain's really good, that it made me hate him so much. You'll get what I'm talking about once you've watched this series. By the way, just a warning, there are explicit scenes in this series. So should you decide to watch it, be prepared to see it. Some of them are disturbing even, at least for someone who doesn't like S&M like me.

FROM TRAUMAS TO EACH OTHER'S COMFORT

Although Happy of the End is a dark and heavy watch, I honestly really enjoyed it. It's actually my first Japanese BL series, and it definitely didn't disappoint me, the storyline and acting were both top-notch.

The show follows Chihiro and Keito, two characters with pretty rough pasts. Chihiro is a homeless guy who was disowned by his family for being gay, while Keito works as a scout and was exploited as a child. They meet at a bar, and what starts as a seemingly normal encounter quickly spirals into something intense and dangerously unconventional.

One thing that stood out to me is how unapologetically raw the series is. It doesn't shy away from the harsh realities of the characters' lives; there's violence, exploitation, and a lot of emotional weight. It's not an easy watch, but that honesty gives the story a sense of realism and depth that's hard to find.

At its core, the show is about Chihiro and Keito slowly opening up to each other. Their bond isn't about fluffy romance, it's about shared pain, loneliness, and a deep need to feel like they belong somewhere. Watching their connection grow, through subtle glances, hesitant touches, and quiet moments of vulnerability, was incredibly moving.

Visually, the series is stunning. The dark, gritty urban setting really adds to the feeling of isolation and despair the characters face, but there are also these surprising moments of beauty, especially in the scenes they share together. The cinematography and music do an amazing job of setting the tone-melancholic, but with a thread of hope running through it.

While there's definitely a thriller element thanks to the dangerous world they're in, the real focus is on the emotional and psychological journeys of the two leads.

Happy of the End isn't your typical feel-good BL. It's not for the faint of heart. It's intense, emotionally charged, and at times pretty tough to watch, but it's also incredibly rewarding. If you're in the mood for something that goes deep and isn't afraid to explore the messier sides of love and life, this one's worth checking out.
