DMV

Pretty much everyone hates going to the DMV. I suspect many of the writers fall into that demographic. Unfortunately, that seems to be a prerequisite for the job.

While the premise has promise, the execution in the pilot is pretty poor. The episode is way overpacked with hit-or-miss jokes. The gags are mostly low-hanging fruit; driving tests from hell, unreasonable, angry customers, a pair of outside folks reviewing the office, and other stereotypical gags. Standard, less-than-amusing, uncreative fare.

The acting is OK, but no one stands out. Tim Meadows as Gregg gives his usual workmanlike perfomance. Harriet Dyer as Colette is all over the map and mostly over the top. The others are completely unmemorable.

As others have pointed out, at there's no laugh track. That, at least, is a definite plus.

All things considered, it's not off to a good start. Perhaps it will improve. Perhaps it won't. I'll give it one more episode, then it's thumbs up or down.

Wow this has sooo much potential. Look at the cast. The writing is just not good. You have Aussie on there that can fix this. Ones that have written the most amazing shows like Colin from Accounts.

Get some help for this quickly or it's not going past season one. Everything is great except the writing!!!!!!

A quirky and slightly cringy but also warm workplace show. I'd rate it 6.5 but since IMDB doesn't do halves and since I think it's underrated, it gets a 7 from me.

I binge watched the first four shows on Paramount+ and enjoyed it. The cast works well together and the characters are great. I'm looking forward to watching the show grow and hope it finds an audience.

Randomly flipped on the tv in the hotel room for background noise while unpacking and discovered my new favorite show.

The lead actress Harriet Dyer is hilarious as Collette the awkward lovable loser.

The entire rest of the cast is insanely talented and very very funny. Seriously, this show is packed with heavyweights.

The writers are magicians, setting up so many unique characters and relationships in a half hour.

The DMV part doesn't interest me too much, but The Office was about a paper compay and no one cared about that.

The end of the first episode sets a sweet tone, as Harriet's character Collette experiences hope after being beaten down.

Anyhoo, I'm rooting for this show to make it and I hope it finds its people.

Funny the first few minutes, and then some amusing moments balanced against some that made me cringe. I will give it another shot, because adjustment usually takes place after the pilot. I have little of value to add, but since these reviews require a minimum number, 50, of character, here come the last ones.
