As a South African wedont have many tornadoes, hurricanes, snow, earthquakes etc. This series shows a different side of the US living the dream life.
Depending on where you are you need to always be prepared for whatever Mother Nature might throw your way.
What ive also learnt is that people dont like listening to authoritative warnings... A storm from hell is coming, but lets go for a drive to check it out.
Ive also learnt that you need an emergency kit in the car. Flares, silver space blankets, burn shield creams, knife, scissors, bandages. Then water and something to eat. Blankets and more warm and dry clothes. Esp when you know something nasty is coming your way.
This series makes these natural events so real and so scary that even over thousands and thousands of miles away I will be better prepared.

Information is placed on the screen in white printing and it's repeatedly placed on top of light colored shifting backgrounds (like clouds). It's nearly impossible to read and there have been a few cases I couldn't decipher all of it. But it's interesting info that's directly related to the scene! There has to be a better option for letter color, a text box behind the writing or some other solution!
I am really enjoying the show overall! I'm fascinated by fierce weather and the problems caused by it. Having the show compiled after the fact gives us an overview and summary - unlike the news footage while it's taking place. Please continue!

I can't rave enough about this television series. Each episode follows a different natural disaster in America, all in real-time thanks to people's mobile phones, news reports, doorbell cameras, etc. I have never been so on the edge of my seat during a series, it has you feeling a whole mixture of emotions. It is unbelievable to think about what people go through and come out of the other end with a story to tell. I binge-watched the whole first season in two days, I hope we get another season soon. If you love things about storm watching, or anything about disasters then please watch this series, you will not be disappointed.
This show is fantastic! It's so well thought out and put together between the interviews, footage, and other additions. The raw footage is fascinating, heartbreaking, and shocking! The people who went through these experiences are inspiring especially when they're out risking their own lives to save others. I highly recommend watching it, it's better than any "reality" show out there. It doesn't get more real or terrifying than what these people went through! I have always been fascinated by storms like these but after watching these first hand accounts, all I can say is that I am grateful to have never found myself or any of my loved ones in such a situation!
No, this isn't a horror show or about any monsters or haunted houses. The monster in Eye of the storm , the latest and welcomed hit show from discovery, is Mother Nature itself. The first person video and audio from storm chasers to regular citizens is absolutely harrowing and will leave you speechless. These storms you May remember hearing about if you were lucky enough to not have been in their paths. We don't see how truly terrifying it is to live through a tornado blowing through our homes and communities or a hurricane . Discovery has truly hit a home run with this new series and its must see. The horror that you will feel and sadness for these people is great and the respect you have for Mother Nature when she decides to get nasty. The production is very impressive and the way it is showed in chronological order from beginning to end in real time is unprecedented in television. Eye of the storm offers something that I have not witnessed from any Hollywood production because no person could ever truly reproduce the power of the weather. These stories are real and raw and show the best of people in the worst imaginable situations. It's about perfect in the shocking way it is all presented. Must watch !!!
