I got hooked on this series thanks to TikTok. Been actually finding a hard time in find the movie but I got to stream it. This series has me hooked on it. IT'S THE BEST! I just love how Easton and Caroline find each other again and they actually prove that who is meant for you will always find their way back to you. I genuinely love this serious and I just wish you could create more serious like this and encourage us to believe in love again. Im just a sucker for love and thanks to TikTok for getting me hooked. Great Acting and great storyline. Big upa to the directors and cast of the movie...
I believe this is the first vertical that pairs Seth Edeen and Nicole Mattox. While Seth Edeen is not as good a natural actor as Nicole Mattox, they still pair nicely because they are both attractive and even better, they seem to have found an engaging onscreen chemistry when doing their romantic scenes. (This chemistry is really on display in the Dragonslayer which was released later.) While the plot arc about why they broke up initially was dragged out in the storyline a bit too long, that seems to be what vertical writers unfortunately think is good theater without realizing it works against making the romance element fully engaging. After allowing for the overly melodramatic tilt that verticals feel compelled to employ, this pairing otherwise creates a very watchable short film.
Also, kudos to the young daughter player and the main villainess on their very credible acting as well.

Moments after finding out she is pregnant to her summer boyfriend Caroline Mills (Nicole Mattox), runs into her boyfriend, Easton Black's (Seth Edeen) mum, Dolores Black (Nicole Provonsil), who forces her to breakup with Easton to ensure he doesn't give up his dreams of being a NHL player, breaking his heart into pieces by kissing her ex boyfriend Mark (Lukas Silva) in front of him. 7 years later, Easton returns to play as captain for the LA Vipers as a NHL legend, only to find Caroline isn't living the life he would have expected, instead she is working as a janitor at the local ice hockey rink, oh and that she has had a daughter Hailey (Ellison Pipe), little does he know Hailey is his daughter.
Trying to earn money to raise her daughter, Caroline puts up with constant abuse and belittlement from the daughter of the hockey coach, Lucinda (Lexi Collins). Lucinda is adamant that Easton will be hers, but Easton cannot deny he still has feelings for Caroline, hiring her as his assistant which leads them on a path of rekindling their old flame and eventually back together.
Nicole Mattox is fantastic as Caroline Mills, in her breakout role, she perfectly encapsulated the caring and protective mother who would do anything for her daughter. Having Caroline put her own feelings and wants aside to ensure a stable and secure home. Nicole is amazing with her portrayal of raw emotion and I am so glad she was chosen for this role to launch her career forward.
Seth Edeen, as Easton Black is great, his ability to portray the strong willed hockey captain as well as the kind and supportive partner and eventual dad. Some of my favourite scenes of Easton from this series are his interaction with Hailey and how much his eyes shine when they are making Caroline breakfast together.
This was a first vertical for so many people and it is no secret as to why it is currently sitting on 272.2 million views.

The short was awesome. I found the story in the Reel Short app. Nicole Mattox is an amazing actress. Seth is a good actor but needs a little more experience. I highly recommend if you have the time to watch this short. The other shorts with both actors are also very good. The chemistry between thme works for the shorts, even though Nicole carries the show m, Seth is a great supporting actor and should not be over looked. I hope that Nicole can break into the main stream movies some day. She can differently carry the movie or be a strong supporting actress. I wish them both the best in their future acting careers.
It took me a bit of effort to find the full series since I only saw clips on TikTok at first. But once I did, Breaking the Ice completely pulled me in, and I'm so glad I found it. The actors really nailed their roles and deserve much more attention for their incredible performances. The story was so engaging, with just the right mix of drama and emotion, that by the time it ended, I felt genuinely sad because I didn't want it to be over. If you're looking for something heartfelt and captivating, I'd highly recommend giving this series a watch. It's a hidden gem that's definitely worth your time!
