The audience, though very biased, loved it.

I went to see the premier of "Dead Giveaway" as part of the Philadelphia Film Festival. And, because the movie was made in Philly it seemed that at least half (probably more) of the audience was made up of folks in the film and their friends. They cheeered, went nuts and thoroughly enjoyed the movie. As for me, I'm not a local, know nobody connected with the movie was was not nearly as into the film.

Jill awakens next to a corpse...and a very, very, VERY bloody one. Blood is spattered everywhere and the only reason Jill had no recollection of this nor her sleeping next to a corpse is that she was out partying and drank enough to kill some people! When her friend arrives, Jill is in a panic and wants her friend to try to figure out what to do with the corpse...and hilarity, occasionally, ensues.

So why did I give the movie only a 4? Well, it has some funny moments but it also practically screams amateur production. This doesn't mean everyone is terrible...just not that experienced. I think after more experience, the folks involved with improve their skills. It's not a bad film...just one that is a bit rough and left me a bit disappointed. Fortunately, it DID end well.
