Taken in Plain Sight

It felt like watching a Lifetime movie, but worse. Way worse. Idiotic story that makes no sense. Terrible, wooden acting. Awful characters. The dad is ready to "move on" six months after his kid disappears. Mom is a moron who repeatedly puts herself in danger. Cartoonish "weird" bad guy. The "twist" ending was so dumb, we burst out laughing. It was just so ridiculous. People throw around the phrase "probable cause" with zero understanding of what it actually means. Shallow writing, terrible script, no depth whatsoever. Felt like it was written by AI since it lacked any basic human emotions or logic. Even the sets are terrible, the most un-lived in looking houses ever. No furniture or anything to indicate it wasn't a rent by the hour house. Clearly no budget for sets, wardrobe, makeup, or acting classes.

Since I'm the one picked this awful movie, I've now had my movie-picking privileges revoked for one week and it's the punishment I deserve, really. Don't be like me. Avoid this abysmal movie at all costs.

Just don't. Netflix is a joke for putting this out and rating it in the top 10. Another good reason to cancel your netflix subscription if you haven't already. This is just REALLY BAD! It's a 1 star movie! Don't fall for the higher rating. The actors are bad. The storyline is bad. Literally everything about it is BAD!

No, this movie is not set in the Liam Neeson universe from the original Taken movie. This is "TAKEN In Plain Sight", a very cheap rip off of any movie entitled "Taken". This film is like a Lifetime movie that ran out of budget.

The daughter is taken from a rest stop and everyone, including the father, is set to move on with life within 6 months - except the mother who hides the fact that she is still looking for her daughter. Uh what???? Seriously, this is the plot.

Find something else to watch. This movie isn't even good for background noise while doing housework.

Really bad acting! This is the type of movie that makes Me believe I can be cast as an actor.

The story was super bland, characters even worse. The genre is listed as a thriller, however there's NO thrill. Its more like a very low budget soap opera drama.

I do not recommend this movie, even if you're bored.
