- A daughter traveling with her widowed mother, a musical theatre performer, and a son traveling with his widower father, a pianist, meet on a cruise and decide that their musical parents would make the perfect couple. They just need to help them realize it. They spend the rest of the trip trying to engineer a romance... only to discover it might not be their parents who are falling in love.
- Sarah Matthews and Jack Wilson, a tourism event marketer and a small town newspaper editor, respectively, meet when they are both on vacation on the latest Danube River sailing of the Emerald Sun. They have a different perspective of a proper work/life balance as Sarah is constantly on her phone for work trying to please her boss, Patricia, while Jack, even while at work, promotes, including for himself, that work is not the end all to be all. Otherwise, they have a remarkably similar reason for being on this cruise as each is traveling with a widowed parent in a bonding exercise, Sarah's mother Julia Matthews an ex-Broadway chorine on her way to be in a Broadway revival show (somewhat reluctantly in not having been on stage in years) hosted by a friend in Budapest. That bonding is more a struggle for Jack in having had more of a tie with his deceased mother than he has ever had with his father, Andre. Sarah and Jack come up with the idea of setting up Julia and Andre in believing they each need someone significant in their life. After one attempt after another fails miserably to set up their parents with each other, Sarah and Jack may not notice they they are falling for each other, something seemingly obvious to everyone around them, including Julia and Andre.—Huggo
