Big step up from the previous game!
As a huge fan of the series, I was counting the minutes until I could play it and it was worth the wait.
So many new game mechanics that we never saw in previous Borderlands games.
So basically this is easily the best Borderlands game ever made. So many new game mechanics, the gunplay is even better than before, movement is levels above compared to the previous ones. I can't recommend it enough.
Performance is not perfect though. Patches are coming out and it does help but it is far from perfect as of now. (I play on a mid range PC so I can only speak for this hardware, if you have better hardware than me, which is most likely, then you should hopefully be fine).
Enjoy the game and have loads of fun. If you're a fan of the franchise, probably you aren't even reading this because you're already playing too. Xd.

- Huge seamless open world. (No more loading screens)
- You can summon your vehicle at any time. (No more catch a ride locations)
- Grappling hook you can use for traversal and even for combat. So much fun!
- Double jump!! Finally.
- You can hover in the air by holding the jump button and it allows you to cover huge distances.
- Dash at any direction. Makes combat encounters much more dynamic and more intense. Sometimes I felt like the Doom Slayer.
- Graphical fidelity is a big step up. Game looks gorgeous even at high settings. There are 2 even higher graphical settings that makes the game look even more beautiful but my hardware is not powerful enough to run it.
- Weapons are insane and the sound design is so spot on. Especially shotguns.
- Vault hunters? Yeah.. best ones from the series. I honestly spent so much time trying to find the One. It was very difficult because they all look and play amazing.

Lazy and uninspired
So, after like 100 hours I have to say it's one of the most boring and unnecessarily long Borderlands games I've played! The characters were annoying, there were bad jokes on almost every dialogue for no reason, the main villain was nowhere in the entire game, ruining the last fight against him, the music was fine but would end and restart every time new minions come out. The side missions were too many! I reached the last level when I was at around 50% of the story. Glitches and bugs all the time, the ECHO that was supposed to show you your way to collectibles and quests wasn't working properly, the guns were mostly slow with too many guns needs time to charge before you shoot, the shop was worthless because it was selling me common guns at level 50 and thus I ended up with millions that I had no reason to spend anywhere... The game wasn't finished obviously, the developers should have made the level cap much higher for those who were going for 100% completion. I was so tired at the last act of the game that I skipped everything and rushed to finish the story! The game needed more time in the oven and the devs needed to give us a better flow in the game's experience... It's the first game I've ever played that I reached max level before I was in the middle of the game! It's insane! I enjoyed it only because I wasn't playing solo, or else I would have dropped it and given it a lower score.
