Golden Globes Adding Best Podcast Category Beginning In 2026
Image
Organizers of the Golden Globes on Wednesday said that the ceremony will introduce a Best Podcast category beginning with the 83rd Globes in 2026.

The recognition for the burgeoning medium will mark a first for a major film and TV awards show; to date, podcasts have been recognized mostly in digital-forward awards shows like the Webby Awards, the Ambies, the iHeart Podcast Awards and the Shorty Awards. Other awards groups that have podcast categories include the Peabody Awards, which revealed their latest winners earlier this month, and the NAACP Image Awards.

Details are few about the criteria for the new category; according to the Globes today, the “top 25 podcasts” will qualify for consideration, with a total of six final nominations for the category. Eligibility requirements for those rankings and other details will be announced in the coming weeks.

Nominations for the 2026 Globes in all now 27 categories will be announced December 8, with...

PGA Awards Name 2025 Nominees, Including ‘The Brutalist,’ ‘Conclave,’ and ‘Emilia Pérez’
Image
After being postponed as a result of the Southern California wildfires that have leveled parts of Los Angeles this past week, the nominations for the Producers Guild Awards were announced today, with the ceremony still scheduled to take place Saturday, February 8 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

Facing off this year in the category of Theatrical Motion Picture are the producers for “The Brutalist,” “A Complete Unknown, “Conclave,” “Dune: Part Two,” “Emilia Pérez,” “A Real Pain,” “September 5,” “The Substance,” and “Wicked.”

Named for one of the original producers and studio executives, a man responsible for films such as “The Jazz Singer” and “The Grapes of Wrath,” the Darryl F.
