This was produced by ITN, the company behind the Poohverse, an MCU-style horror universe combining slasher films with Pinocchio, Bambi, and most famously Winnie the Pooh (it did all the popular Winnie the Pooh Blood and Honey films). Popeye will not be part of that universe.
