Retired friends - Anna Sokolovskaya, a former administration employee, and Ulyana Lyutaya, former director of the best school in Gubernsk, are walking around the territory of a local sports club. They pay attention to the strange behavior of one of the clients, surfer Ksyusha. On the same day, the girl swims away with coach Rustam to a distant base and disappears.

The friends decide to conduct their own investigation and find out where Ksyusha disappeared to. Anna and Ulyana find important evidence, but the police do not take their arguments seriously. Soon they discover the body of Rustam, Ksyusha's coach. The young man hanged himself and left a suicide note. But the heroines are sure that another person wrote the note, which means Rustam was killed.

Anna and Ulyana undertake to help teacher Marina, a mother with three children, who is being kicked out of her home. The Kolos agricultural company buys an abandoned dispensary next to its site and demands that the land be vacated. Allegedly, the plot was obtained illegally by her grandfather. Anna and Ulyana are sure that something is unclean here.

Marina begins to receive threats. She is already ready to give up the plot, but Anna and Ulyana are not used to giving up. Soon tragedy strikes. Marina is hit by a jeep near her house and is in a coma. Detective friends will have to delve into the past to uncover the secrets of Marina's house.

Lyudmila, a friend of Anna and Ulyana from a neighbouring village, opened a small hotel 'Quiet Beach' in the house she inherited from her grandfather. However, recently strange events began to occur there, scaring away the guests. Either a snake will crawl into the window, or the milk will turn sour, and some neighbours even saw ghosts roaming around the house. The friends undertake to figure out what the hell is going on there.

Anna and Ulyana suspect that Lyudmila has envious people. Her business is developing successfully, and not everyone around her likes it. Neighbours, friends, even Lyudmila's own husband come under suspicion. And soon the matter takes a much more serious turn - a murder occurs.

The daughter brings her grandson Fedya to Ulyana. Meanwhile, Ulyana herself works part-time as an English tutor. Her student, the wife of businessman Klim Solovyov, Natalya, is being blackmailed by unknown people. First, the Solovyovs' house is robbed, and soon Natalya's driver, Leonid, dies from a knife wound on Ulyana's lawn. Natalya turns to a local clairvoyant, Uncle Misha, for help.

The husband begins to notice oddities in Natalia's behavior and suspects her of cheating. Meanwhile, Anna goes to the theater, to the best wig specialist in the city, Garik. The murdered Leonid was holding a clump of hair in his hands, and the young chemist Fedya was able to determine that it was hair from a wig.

Viktor, Ulyana's beloved man, has serious problems. A movie is being filmed in Gubernsk, and the famous film actor Roshchin accuses Viktor of hitting him and demands a huge amount for moral damages. Viktor assures that he is innocent; Roshchin himself threw himself under his wheels. Anna and Ulyana undertake to help Viktor, but to do this they need to get to know Roshchin better. Therefore, friends volunteer to act in films.

Roshchin is convinced that someone is hunting him; he sees people from his past everywhere. Producer Veniamin, one of Anna's ex-husbands, does not take his ward's concerns seriously. However, Ulyana's grandson, Fedya, assures his detective friends that they really tried to kill Roshchin. Just who?

Anna receives an invitation to the anniversary of the director of the Toy Factory, tycoon Zernov. The event will take place at his mansion on the island. Only his closest people and Anna, whose literary work he values very highly, will gather. Anna arrives at the mansion and finds out that after the death of his beloved wife, Zernov began to behave extremely strangely.

The holiday turns into tragedy; under strange circumstances, two of those gathered on the island die. Anna suspects that this is not an accident, but a double murder, so she calls her friend Ulyana Lyutaya for help. Lyutik arrives to the mansion on the island.

Anna and Ulyana go fishing early in the morning. Viktor promised to teach them a fishing lesson. But rest has to be postponed. The corpse of a young man, Artur Ganeev, associated with a group of archaeologists, was discovered in the river. Ganeev was hit in the back with the triangular blade of an ancient stiletto, and then his body was thrown into the water. Lyutik and Anyutik are unable to stay away from the investigation of this unusual case.

Rodion Kobzev becomes the main suspect in Ganeev's murder; it was in his backpack that the murder weapon was found. In addition, Kobzev had a conflict with the murdered Ganeev; the day before there was a fight between them. However, Anna and Ulyana do not believe that the guy is guilty and decide to find the real killer on their own.

Ulyana's daughter, Nadya, bought trips to a health resort near Vyborg for Anna and Ulyana. Ulyana reluctantly agrees to go. However, the sanatorium immediately presents surprises to the friends. The entertainment program includes performances by the psychic hypnotist Puzanovskiy, who does amazing things with the audience. And soon, under strange circumstances, an elderly man dies in a sanatorium.

A tragedy unfolds before Anna and Ulyana's eyes. One of the guests, Rybakov, suddenly pushes the head doctor of the sanatorium, Inga, into a car and takes her away in an unknown direction, and soon brings her back already dead. And while Inga's husband, Schultz, cannot find relief from grief, Lyutik and Anyutik suspect that this was a very strange staging.
