Having never written a movie review, I feel compelled to describe my experience in watching the Cassidy brother's film, Childish Things. As an audience member, I actually had the feeling that I was like a fly on the wall who was bearing witness to numerous closed door encounters that were meant to be private conversations. What should have been a happy, loving exchange between Nick (Nick Cassidy) and his girlfriend, Abby, played by Caitlin Zambito centering on forgotten birthday candles, turned into a tension filled scene that revealed their not-so-perfect relationship in a matter of moments. This scene, like many that followed, shined a light on the strengths and flaws of each character. Was the cross country road trip that Nick took an act of running from or driving to the clarity that he was seeking? Through humor, heartache and terrific background music, Childish Things takes its audience along on the ride.
