Ghosts: Australia

Kind of crazy that every version so far has been great. I loved the british version, then the american version was great! Then this version popped up and it was great too! The best part is that they all put their own spin on the same concept, but they all have knocked it out of the park. I really hope this one gets a second season!

Watching it back to back with the US version, it's definitely not as good, however it has have a few good laughs, actors are good and the storyline is nicely adapted to Australian culture, if not a little bit on the nose - which tends to happen with Australian remakes to make them stand out from the original. Definitely give it a watch.

So, what if the US version, but unfunny?

If you see the scenes adapted from the UK/US version and put them side by side with this one, you can see how lackluster they are, and sometimes even mean spirited without being funny (which makes the first 2 episode really hard to power through).

I've watched the UK and the US versions and have been wanting an Australian version since. I am disappointed (but can understand why) that we didn't get a First Nations ghost. It's interesting to see a shake up of the Ghost's abilities to their characters as we've seen in the other versions. The references to Australian culture are done right in my opinion, not overt and in your face.

I kinda was also hoping for an Aussie politician among the ghosts with a death that would be a homage to Harold Holt. I can see the creators of the Aussie version have taken a lot from both UK and US versions and making it their own.

Here's hoping for 6 seasons and a movie.

I have watched several episodes and it just doesn't seem as good as the U. S. and U. K. versions. I hate to compare, but then again they've mirrored this show on the others.

I find the two main characters quite likeable, but the ghosts are all pretty annoying. Particularly the aerobics instructor, the officer, and the rich one. Very hard to watch.

It didn't make me laugh and at times made me cringe.
