Ridin the Clown

This film is nothing short of interesting while the idea might seem far out and goofy I believe it was executed very well Beau did a good job with the resources he has on hand and the product was a delightful film worth the watch I will say there's definitely worse student films out there and there's definitely better student films out there but this is definitely on the better side while the writing and storytelling could use work in my opinion and it would be nice to see some other actors I'm excited to see what Beau will be able to make in the future with a larger budget and more help and resources.

Before I start this review I am Friends with the director but that doesn't mean I'm going to be all nice if I don't like something I don't like it.

When I watched this I wasn't expecting anything crazy but I've come out of it with some good laughs and some great viewing experience but that doesn't mean this film doesn't have its faults, The writing/story at times can be very confusing with the main characters and the killer. Johnathan(the boy who got his penis crushed) was funny but I couldn't really feel bad about his father and brother dying, It should've been a little more focused on. Ridin The Clown was a good killer reminded me of Jason from the Friday the 13th movies and Freddy from the Nightmare on elm street movies had mixed together, with the dark jokes Freddy cracks and the killer drive Jason has but Ridin Isn't that rememberable there should've been more scenes with just him thinking, For example after being attacked from the news anchor and Johnathan Ridin looked into the mirror (like the terminator) and just looks at his black eye seeing what he's doing no better than his father. I can tell he was working with what he had which is makes it feel more grounded than other movies.

The gore wasn't there maybe a few shots of a person spitting out blood but never really felt like they got hurt or that there life was in danger but one kill I really enjoyed and probably the best in the movie was when one of the characters got his hand cut off with blood shooting out his hand while the hold time Ridin the clown was joking about it, That whole scene was amazing.

I feel like Beau can really become a great director if he either works on his writing skills or gets actual writers to help with the production.
