Coming from the previous episode, it was obvious that the following one would not be as spectacular.
It's mostly the same as episode 5, only now we have Aira as a part of the new main cast. So far, she definitely doesn't appear to be as appealing as Momo & Okarun, though that's probably the entire point as of now lol (I still haven't read the manga).
The highlights of the episode also aren't as strong as any of the previous episodes as well, which left me slightly disappointed by the end. Obviously, this doesn't ruin the momentum that this season has built so far. The ending of this episode especially confirms this, as it's quite similar to how the 6th episode ended. And we all know what that setup led to in the 7th.
The comedy was definitely good enough for an episode like this, and with the return of the presumed antagonist(s), it's more than enough reason to give this episode some praise for what it is.

Can people not expect every episode of this show to be the magic last episode was? Thanks.
I'm seeing nothing but complaints on here about this episode. It's stupid: this was a perfectly fine episode and did most of what was needed. I know people are pressed because everything feels "forced" in this episode but can people not see how valuable this episode was for plot development?
I feel the real criticisms of this episode come from the fact it was slower and seems "unnecessary" to the feeble mind of action-plot heavy nutcases who can't ever let a show relax itself. If you can't embrace that, you probably won't enjoy this show. Dandadan is not just a Supernatural anime, or a Sci-Fi anime: it's a romcom/slice of life. That's it. And there will inevitably be episodes in the show which are there to create that part of the show. It's thorough writing, and important in not abandoning the fundamental reasons why this show is unique and notable: variety and character development. So this episode was very much needed for those things, and disagreeing on that is just a sign of bad media literacy.
Ok, I can give a bit of leeway to the criticisms of the the plot of the individual episode in certain moments. I don't think it's an issue, but for many this episode as a standalone might seem questionable in plot direction. But I don't think the criticisms are fair in the context of the wider show. What other directions could you go without making a boring or artificial character development? I'm interested to see what suggestions you have. Because quite frankly if someone saved my life I think I'd quite like them as a person too. It's a logical path for a person to ACTUALLY LIKE THE PERSON WHO SAVED THEIR LIFE. And once they GET EVEN, WHICH WILL PROBABLY HAPPEN LITERALLY BY THE END OF THE SEASON, IT'S CLEARLY NOT LASTING BECAUSE THIS IS NOT THE DIRECTION THIS SHOW WANTS TO GO IN, CLEARLY. If you're a knucklehead who complains immediately, just shut it. Have faith in the writer. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Plot development doesn't happen in a week. Else you get a RUSHED PRODUCT and an ANGRY FANBASE.
If fans get toxic for this show like JJK I will genuinely lose it. We are losing the sight of the core of this show already.
9/10. A completely quality, good episode which I haven't been able to fully discuss because media illiterate idiots want to make everyone lose sight of what's good about the show.

I lobe this episode as a manga reader. But i think it does have some lack to it in the animation. The direction is okay i guess but not as good as the last episode. But it is not horrible or not bad to watch. Second is the animation quality. I notice some hiccups there and there. I mean it does not ruin the show but it also somehow the episode that i feel the animation is a bit less here. But on the first part only. Till the empty space it is gorgeous. But yeah i see the preview for ep 9 and it do look good on animation, so that is why some animation a bit sacrifice there.
Third. The aira transform. I dont like the spinning. It somehow make it less noticable or less epic. I wish they put like individual or realistic leg work fight instead of fast spinning. But i get it like i said probably to reduce some animation like leg choreograph for next episode. All i can say is, this arc is not my favs, but i cannot wait for the action next episode. So 8 i think is alright, i dont want to give it seven because it do have good direction, good animation with the monster loch ness and also.

We yet find another example of how modern anime viewers have no patience... does everyone remember DBZ and Naruto waiting through weeks and weeks of filler for one banger. It's why all new animes are so fast paced and lots of progress in a short period. Cause new anime viewers have the attention and patience of a child.
This episode was absolutely incredible. Was it as amazing as last episode? No, but that episode is season 1s magnum opus. That was a 10 this was a 9. The show is giving out so much gold we need somewhat fill so the show can last more than 3 season and disappear.
If you're watching week to week and expect more... then wait, wait until it's all out and then watch through and then review.
